THE BLANK PAGE

Greetings in Jesus:

We all seem to start out much like a blank page when we are born into this world.  The word tells we are born into sin (not of sin) which tells me that something is happening to us in life that changes us from that blank page into the person we become right now.  In a word I believe that we can say the word GROWTH.

What happens is that the hundreds of thousands of in puts, and out puts that have been varied and changed in our brains have allowed us to simulate that information and make decisions on it as we come into contact with life.  We all grow and change from where we start to where we are right now through what we have experienced.  That does not make us good or bad; it just makes us different from one another.

Once again I refer to the words that Jesus used when talking about what we eat and drink physically..."it's not what goes into a man that defiles the man, but it's what that comes from a man that defiles him", and I believe that is true of our lives on a spiritual basis in particular.  In other words it isn't the process of growth that defiles us, but it is what we do with processing what ever goes into us through experiences and information that really defiles us.  I believe that is why two people can be exposed to the same environment yet can come out of it with completely different views.  Does that mean that some or born to be good inside ad others bad?  I don't know the answer to that except to say that we all have weaknesses and strengths that play out in our lives.  Some are predisposed to certain weaknesses and will fall into temptations that others will not, and on the other hand those that are not bothered by one thing may have a difficult time with something else altogether.

This whole thing can get quite deep if we let it, but it ends up being what ever our reaction is to life cycles around us is what we control, but what happens to us is rarely in our control.  We spend so much time in trying to control circumstances when in truth we can only really control is our response to circumstances.  Just like we cannot control anyone else's response...we still can control what our response is; it actually depends on what we are using to control that response in us.  Is it God...the power of the Holy Spirit? Or is it the hurt and the prejudice we have learned from the world?

We cannot stop the growth of our lives, but we can stop the tendency to allow the hurts and the abuses to govern the ways we react to life.  We all have things that will bubble up from inside of us left by this world but there is an answer for those things and that is to give our will to Christ Jesus to control.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
