POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

I greet you in Jesus:

Acts 16:16-40 offers us a look into  the world of political correctness that most of us never knew existed.  That political dance was being done between the Sanhedrin and the Roman Empire as they tried to dance around the issues of who was in charge.  Political correctness has always been about who has the power over others both physically and psychologically.  It is one of the latest tools used by this world to control us, but it takes a long time to prepare us to accept it.

Paul and Silas found themselves in the middle of what ended up being a political correct battle that divided corruption against itself.  The first faction came from the truth teller who was possessed yet could not keep from proclaiming the true intent behind Paul and Silas being in the area.  Just like every demon knows God this woman even though she was possessed could not help but proclaim the truth.  She was a slave, and her owners were making a huge profit from her fortune telling.  When finally Paul turned to her and cast out the demon within her that case cow died with her healing.

I have no doubt that not only were the owners upset, but also those who had depended upon her predictions in life to help them gain more profit...including those from Rome who were always looking for an upper hand.  Evil reacted just the way we would expect it to through getting revenge. those who were invested in this scheme had Paul and Silas arrested and thrown into prison only to find that they were Roman citizens...and that changed everything.  It is unusual for us to be able to use this world against itself, but Paul in his time was in an unusual situation.  He was highly educated...more so than any of the other Apostles, and he had standing in the world because of his birthright as a Roman citizen.

Today we are also battling political correctness, and it is starting to turn ugly with those who insist that we walk on egg shells to not offend anyone or anything even though we can clearly see what is evil and what is good.  With all of my heart I want for you to know that there are absolutes in truth that we can and should hold tightly to based upon God's word and not man's own reasoning.  Our lives are being torn by the desperate acts of factions that want power and control over God and God's people.  We like Paul and Silas are children of the King, but this world does not yet recognize His power or His Kingdom...but they will.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
