THE APPLICATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

Greetings in Jesus:

Many Christians have a great amount of trouble understanding how to apply righteousness to their lives.  It is not easy to do because it takes a great amount of commitment on our part to achieve.

Romans 5:12-21 shows us that if we remain in the world we will have nothing but death because we are living under a natural law...the law of Adam.  God has given us a choice now which we have never had before Jesus Christ; which is to be with God, or to remain within the confines of this world.  God has offered us a free gift of choice, and yet we have to fully act upon that choice we make.
For many years now I have been advocating that we have a responsibility as well to God when we accept His love and forgiveness...it does not all go just one way.  Simply put God saves us and we in turn live for Him.  God will not accept half hearted commitments to Him because in His perfect Kingdom there can be no decent ion and there can be no free choices to obey the law of God or not obey the law of God.  We are grafted into the vine which is Christ and we should be baring fruit of His Spirit.  If we do not do so we will be pruned or eventually cut off from the perfection of the vine( which is Christ) and cast into the same fire as those who refuse the gift of salvation.

This brings up a question that has long been asked...Can we loose our salvation??  Most people believe that we cannot once we have been completely committed to Christ, which means unless our relationship with Christ is continuing to grow and bare fruit we will not see the Kingdom of Heaven.  I believe that statement is very clear and to the point as we see our part of this relationship develop.  Jesus told us that it would not be an easy road to follow Him, but that we each one must take up our own cross to follow after Him...in other words we each must find our own way in dedicating our lives to Christ completely as He has in saving us.  Our own application of the righteousness that God has offered us is never any less of a sacrifice than what Christ has asked us to make on a daily basis...it is a living sacrifice which is Holy acceptable unto God which is our reasonable service.

There are some teachings that are hard to accept and yet we know the truth when we hear it; this is one of those which is rarely spoken of or dealt with in the church today.  We know that Jesus told us that unless we work at our salvation and relationship with God we cannot have one.  We know the answer to the question that comes up can we loose our salvation?  We know that we cannot be plucked out of God's hand, but we also know that we still can leave the protection of God's hand on our own.  That leads me to believe that when Paul spoke of working out our salvation with fear and trembling on a daily basis he was very serious.  If a tree falls in the Forrest and no one is there to hear it does it still make a sound?  You know it does, and yet how can you prove it?  I would rather be prepared than disappointed.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
