MATTHEW 25:34-46
The facts of Jesus teachings indicate that we may not realize all of what God has used our lives for on the Judgment Day. The times we have been called on to do things for others instead of for self may come into play at this point for Jesus indicates that many of us will not realize that we have been doing God's work all along.
I think of all of the time and energy that Saints of God have spent in helping those around them as fruit of the Spirit that simply happens because of their relationship with Christ but not necessarily an act they wanted to do as helping God fulfill His ministry. I don't think we understand that we are missing that truth sometimes.
God's work and ministry go through us to the world around us , but it does not come from us...it comes from the power of God's Spirit as He changes and works within our lives. We are still only the tools that God chooses to use in various ways, and it all depends on how well we may fit into His hand as to how well or even how often we are used by God to do a work. One of the greatest blessings we can have is to mold ourselves into a form that fits well into God's hand so that He can comfortably use us for what ever work there may be.
There are many different types of grip patterns that God likes to use when He is working and if we can mold ourselves by the use of the right kind of materials that allow Him a better , safer, and more complete control of us then He will no doubt come to us first...even if we are not always built or made for the work. I can't help but think that is what we see happening many times within various church bodies when one or two people seem to be doing everything...could it be because even though they may not be made for the job at hand they may fit better and more completely for God's grip as He continues to do the work through them?
My own life has changed dramatically over the last few years because of that very thing; my life has become more pliable to the hand of God because I choose to make my life out of materials that can easily be molded to fit what ever His needs are at the time. I can attest to the fact that some of what God has used me for I have never been made for...in many cases my character is way too weak and my past does not met the criteria for use in the ways God has chosen to use me. The materials I have originally been made of are way too weak and yet it is through God's ability to test and strengthen what is in me; and then placing a handle on me with a grip that fits His hand I can be used through cautious labor without failing during the job. We are all made weak in some way naturally, and yet with the right grip, and the right use ( that only God can provide) we can be picked up and used in ways that even we have never thought possible...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
