WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT LOVE
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
As Christians we tend to keep the message that Jesus taught us about love fairly simple; John 3:16 has always been a favorite of mine in that we know God loves us. The simple truth is that because of that we should also love God. Matthew 22:37.
Often we don't quite get past those thoughts to understand the relationship that we should have with God because of that love. Because God loves us He cares for us Matthew 6:25-34. We don't often realize in a day all of the care that God gives us in protecting us from the absolute evil that larks in all of the dark places of this world. We don't think about the care that He provides in our heath and our well being to continue to work and live in a world filled with sin. The fact is that God still loves those who hate Him Matthew 5:43-47, and further more we are to do the same as His children. God continues to seek out those who are the most alienated from Him Luke 15:. The only way that we can really show our love for God is to obey Him John 14:21; 15:10.
God loves Jesus His Son, and Jesus loves God John 5:20; 10:17 ; 14:31 , and it is that love that brings the state of unity that the Holy Spirit is desperately trying to get the Church to be a part of today. The thing is that Jesus proved His love to us through the same obedience that we are required to have to the Father John 3:14-15 ;15:13-14. You see the love between God and Jesus is perfect, and it is a perfect example of how we are to love others John 17: 21-26. We are to love one another in this same way...through our obedience to the love of the Father; that is how we demonstrate perfected love. It is a part of our process of transformation from the old creature to the new creature who fits into the perfect Kingdom of Heaven. John 13:34-35 Matthew 5:40-42.
This love has nothing to do with the praise and adoration of other men and women because that is selfish recognition Matthew 23:6. This has nothing to do with earthly belongings or anything else other than you and God Luke 16:19-31. This love is not seasonal or temporary in any way, but constant and pure; it never goes away because it is eternal in the same way we are made to be eternal. We should not worry whether we will live forever or not...we will...but how we will live out that eternity is the question? We can have that eternal love or we can opt for eternal damnation without love or support from God. For those who doubt that God loves you...think about just a few moments in your life with no hope, joy, peace or light in your life. We would be in a real world of hurt without God's love and favor on our lives. Turn to Jesus and find true love in your life...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
