THE PHYSICAL AND THE SPIRITUAL CHURCH

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

The tremendous differences in the physical relationship people have with the Church and the Spiritual commitment we should have with God are becoming more and more separate as the days grow shorter for Christ's return.  Without exception I can see the the gap between what is of this world and what is from God's Spiritual call to us becoming more defined through a marked difference between works and Faith.

This difference comes in the meaning behind the resurrection of Christ for each believer in how they dealt with one another and calling it  a work of faith, Acts 2:41-47 tells us a different story about how the first church felt about Christ's resurrection. They devoted themselves to the teachings that had been brought down through Christ and through the Holy Spirit in the now Apostles of Christ.  It was to the fellowship ; breaking of bread and prayer.  Everyone was filled with the awe of God's Spirit at work in them, and the constant signs, wonders and miracles that were done by the Apostles.  All believers were together and had everything in common even to the point of selling what they had extra and giving to anyone who had need.  They did not forsake the assembling of themselves together for even one day.  They spent time in ones another's homes and had meals together in their homes with glad hearts and enjoyed one another's favor it tells us.  They praised God together and enjoyed one another's favor.

Today's works based mentality has eaten away at the concept of real family in that people tend to set up walls between themselves and others so that it becomes almost impossible for the kind of activity shown in Acts 2:41-47 to take place in life.  We cannot know what is within a mans heart except for the spirit that is within him, but the value of God's word will abide within a man according to 1 Corinthians 2:11, and 3:5.  We are all just servants of God who are called to help each other in the goal of living out the citizenship of the Kingdom of Heaven within us.  The real test that we have within the church body is the Spirit of God who should dwell within us, and then the fruit of the Spirit which becomes a bi-product of our relationship with God. Psalms 119:97-104 speaks of the love that we should have for God's word within us as the Holy Spirit teaches us, and not other men.  This is where real spiritual wisdom comes from between God's word and His Spirit.  The attitude that we need continuously is the seek after God together.  That starts, however, with our personal relationship with God.  Psalms 63 has a very good handle on what that attitude needs to be for each one of us.  Between that attitude and reading God's word on a daily basis we should be able to get back to the results that the true Bride of Christ is all about Galatians 5:16-24.  If we live by the Spirit for and with our fellow Christian it will no doubt make all the difference in our daily life and in our Church's growth.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
