TO WHOM IS GOD SENDING US?

Greetings in Jesus name:

In Luke 4:14-39 is the account of Jesus being rejected by His own townspeople in Galilee as teacher or as anything of any merit because they thought they knew Him.  As a man they thought they understood Him and yet when His ministry started He became a person of great interest throughout the countryside because of the signs , wonders, and the teachings He gave.  I always thought that it was interesting that He could never really reach those people whom He had grown up with or been around all of His life until then.

It was obvious that Jesus was unable to reach everyone, and that it depended completely on the open heart and mind of those whom He came into contact with, and that makes me think about the people that we are called to speak to or witness to as well.  I have found that unless the Holy Spirit gets involved in a conversation or unless God sends me to someone or they to me I will almost always fail at trying to spread the gospel by myself. The more I realize that the more I tend to just relax and allow God to lead me to where He wants me to go the better my life gets.  I find that I no longer am overly concerned that I have not witnessed to anyone because I know that God is in control of all that I do in witnessing.  Jesus told us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light...but that is true only if we are not fighting Him for the control of our lives.

In this passage of scripture we find that Jesus was faced with the real sentiment of this world about God's law and control over us.  That feeling is rather negative indeed, and that is the case for most all of our lives when we come to Christ and we become changed.

In my home town my family was not in the high social charts, and my own efforts as a young man to live for Christ were always questioned.  It didn't help with the mistakes I made on my own growing up, but for me to become anything that the people didn't think I should be was out of the question.  After a while I started to believe that I could never be anything as long as I stayed in that place...so I left and never came back.  In some way I knew that the message that God wanted to bring through my life would never be heard by those whom I had always known and had always known me.

When we come to a certain point in our lives we begin to see that God really does send us on Divine appointments with others...He leads us through the power of Hid Spirit what it is we should both say and do, and we witness in Christ in so many ways that we are never even aware of because we are being used, and guided by God's love and mercy to this world.  Who is God going to send you to today?  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
