WHY WON'T ANYONE LISTEN OR BELIEVE?
Greetings in Jesus:
It is time that we realized that we will not be successful with everyone we come into contact with as far as their hearing and believing is concerned. John 12:37-50 is an account of people not believing Jesus even after the miracles, signs and wonders He performed among them. "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed" a part of verse 38 found in Isaiah. I believe the reason is because God has begun to blind the eyes of men and deaden their hearts. Again a quote from Isaiah verse 40 " He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts so they can neither see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, nor turn and I would heal them" In other words there are many out there who have been allowed to be taken over by the sin of their lives to the point that they will no longer respond to God's love.
There are two things that happen once we understand that is going on now: 1. we are not responsible for what they have decided in their hearts to do about God, and 2. we need to be very intent on our seeking out anyone who still has ears to hear the gospel and try to get them into God's Kingdom. I can tell you that for the most part it will never be the rich or influential among us but those who are hurting and in need. The message of the Gospel of Christ has been meant for those who are afflicted and sick, and not for those who think of themselves as well. I believe that is one of the reasons that God has sent the Gathering Church into a ministry for the sick and the afflicted among us. We are not called to build great and powerful things for men to look at in this world...we are here to love and console the hearts of those who hunger and thirst after God. This sounds very much like the street ministry that Jesus started some 2000 years ago. there are still those who seek after that kind of peace of mind and heart that loving God bestows upon us.
Today's world has hardened the minds and hearts of men to the point that at sometime God may well close the door on them by completely blinding them to any truth at all. We see today people so caught up within their own mind that unless they are broken into pieces they will never find forgiveness. The great desire for control and ownership has not changed since Lucifer started dwelling upon his own desires for it. We continue just like sheep to follow the whispering voice of deceit within our ear to claim that which we think we deserve...yet we neither have been created to rule, nor do we have the perfection within us physically to sustain ownership. We are much like the child that cries because they want, and yet if given the opportunity to have they could not get past the point of deciding what they want first, or how to care for it if they had it. It would be like placing a loaded gun in front of a 2 year old child. We must come back to the realization that the only pathway to God is the one that He has created for us...and that is through Jesus Christ. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
