RENEWAL through God's Spirit

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

There is no doubt that in today's society we as Christian's need a renewal in God's Holy Spirit in order to continue in our struggle against sin.  This is not so that we can over come sin and spread the word of God only, it is because we need the strength to stand ourselves.

1 Corinthians 2:10-16 lays out the fact that the Spirit of God searches all things, even the deep things within us that are of God. I believe that the Holy Spirit knows when we are trying to hide anything at all from the light of truth.  It may well be something that we ourselves are not willing to admit, and I can't help but believe that is the case more often than not.  While we may not know what is in one another's heart God certainly does.  If He does indeed live within us as the Plan of Salvation has promised He will if we surrender to Him it becomes a no brainier that we cannot hide anything from Him.  The word tells us that no one else can know the spirit of a man except for the spirit that is within him.  We can hide the true intentions from our fellow man, and that fact alone leads us to be able to deceive others.  In deceiving others we also begin to deceive ourselves about our relationship with God's Spirit within us.  Our relationship with God is unlike anything else we have had in this world as far as relationships go because He knows everything that we know about us. God knows the very second that we start to deceive ourselves or others, and that knowledge effects our relationship with Him.

We all know that it is impossible to get away from our own thoughts and our own guilt even though everyone may feel that everything is just fine.  There is no where that we can go to hide from God's truth within us, and it is that very truth that will continue to haunt us until we may it right.  God will not stop bothering us about what is going on on the inside of us because He wants the problem fixed so that our relationship with Him can be fixed.  If we refuse to deal with sin in our lives there becomes a grace period we are given before His power and His joy starts to leave us.  The longer we refuse to renew our relationship with God the less God will dwell with us.  God is always willing to forgive us, but only if we are truthful and honest in our dealings with Him and with ourselves.

When the Scribes and Pharisees dealt with Jesus they were forced to choose between their need to deceive others with the intent of their heart or to choose the truth that would not leave them alone.  God literally made them choose between themselves and a relationship with God.  I believe that is what drove them to the point of crucifying Jesus...they could not  escape the spirit of God that had given them the truth about self.  Today we are dealing in a huge way with much the same problems.  At some point God will begin to leave us to the choices we have made of self.  God will not continue to dwell with the intent of sin in our lives.  We must make that choice, and when we do we will then be battling this world all over again...we must make a choice in one or the other; choose wisely my friends. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
