MENTORING :LET GOD DO THE CHOOSING

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

First of all I am still looking for some comments or testimony to be sent by you who come here and read.  I have been checking everyday but so far nothing ...  This is a very important subject that needs to have open discussion.  It seems to be that great silent majority again piping up and saying nothing.

We have been slowly brain washed into thinking that we cannot have an opinion in this life...there is really no wonder the world is trying to take away our rights to an opinion of any kind.  There are some important things that I would really like to get your feed back on in this series of blogs.  On many occasions you may have seen me write about something being an art form.  Mentoring becomes one of those art forms  that people can naturally pick up because in truth all we are doing is embracing a natural transition within us and our spiritual person toward the things of God.  While there are many things that we initiate within us to start that journey; we never finish them on our own...we cannot because they would end up imperfect and unacceptable in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The truth is that any effort that we might make to mentor someone else is fruitless unless we are also willing to grow and change along with the experience.  On a personal level I have never had an experience when God has called me to mentor someone where I didn't have as much growth in my life as they did...and that excites me!  As we mentor we must open up our lives as well to the person whom we are called to.  That means that both the good and the bad within us at some time will be exposed to the one being mentored which means that it is very likely that person will walk away with a completely different  view of who it is we are than they had begun with.  This entire process is much like a surgery where our insides are lay ed bare, and exposed to the opinions of someone else.  That is why we cannot go into a mentoring role with someone without expecting some things to be exposed and fixed within our self as well as the person we mentor.

We will find that likely God will cause us to have a 20/20 vision together on things that before may have totally stumped us.  We may deal with those dreams and visions that both have had for a long time, and most definitely we will begin to experience a new and stronger energy from God's Spirit for what we do.  At first we may well feel a squeeze in our comfort zones, but in the end there will be many open doors that we may not have seen before.  The most important thing about this process of witness and testimony to another person is that we cannot give more to God than we get back from Him.  We will no doubt find as we continue the journey together that our lives will change ; not from what we have done, but from our letting God do the choosing in each step we take.  Don't forget to share this week...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
