CALLING EVIL BY IT'S FIRST NAME (Self)
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
If we were completely honest with ourselves we don't like to be exposed for the things we say and do that shows us in that cruel light of truth. I still cringe when I dwell on my own past mistakes, but the word of God is designed that through the laws God has given us to live by we should be exposed to pure good; which by its nature condemns us.
In today's world we are seeing more stark difference between good and evil than at any time in History. I believe that is because God is allowing pure evil for a time to be unleashed upon this world...free to roam to and fro like that lion scripture speaks of as it devourers it's victims. The real truth is that those who have become blood drunk and kill just for the pure pleasure of killing have given themselves over to that pure evil. We as God's people should learn from the result of what happens when self is allowed to rule each thought and motive within us. We like Lucifer are created beings who have our own limitations. We are created for one purpose, and that purpose is to please our creator. The elements of this life are much more simply understood when we strip away all of the self importance we have built up all around our own existence. We can't truly love as God loves and see ourselves as the most important object of affection. Our creation to love and to serve does not only go toward God (our creator) but also to one another. The true evil within us then is seen in each selfish act we allow to govern us. This is where the beginning of apathy and self righteousness comes from to think of ourselves more highly than we should. The simple command to actually believe there is one God who has created and framed all things from nothing into being is a first step. I think a majority of people today are fighting with that single conviction, and unless we can confirm that faith and belief within our hearts we are subject to the deceit of self, and the over taking of our lives by evil. The more pure the evil the more readily we see death on it's heels. We can easily see evil in its purest form through the blood drunk actions of terrorist across the world today whose only excuse for what they do is self. There is no real belief behind their actions other than kill and conquer, and their law is not based upon anything other than personal greed.
We have a choice to make this day as to whom we shall serve...God ...or self? I am very afraid that even those of us who are not among those blood drunk with self are still dangerously close to not caring about one another; which is again another form of self. We so easily have replaced caring and concern for the good we can do for one another in life with this self centered concern for what we get out of life that it has destroyed the unity and concepts of love created within us. My friends the truth never changes...we were never created to rule over our own Kingdom...we were created to love and fellowship in unity and bonding of our hearts and minds. We were created to love one another as we have loved ourselves. We are always going to love our own life; it is our greatest gift from God, and yet it means less each day to live when we center that life around self without sharing it with someone else. We desperately need to start believing that God is again, and that what He has told us is the truth. We need to live in and operate under that truth from God for if we do not we too will fall to evil. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
