THE FRAUDULENT CHRISTIAN

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

There are many within the church today who have not really given themselves completely to Christ, but instead have adopted an attitude which puts them in charge of what and how they will to react to the Christian experience around them.  This type of person is never teachable in the Spirit of Christ, and in many cases becomes more of a thorn than they do a fruit producing follower of Christ.   In Act 9:25-30 the account of Paul as he continued to prove to the brotherhood of his sincerity is given.  The fact that because of his past actions to enslave and kill Christians he found through the Synagogue leadership; the Christians did not trust him.  It wasn't until Barnabas took Paul to the Apostles and explained that  Saul while upon his journey to Damascus had been converted by Christ Himself and had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus since then.  Paul stayed with them for a while, and then sent him on to Tarsus.  It was not until many long years from then that the people finally trusted in Paul, and then it was only because of his consistency in his steadfastness to Christ Jesus.

Today once again we have a dilemma within the church about who we can trust in Christ and who is fraudulent as a Christian.  The word tells us to know one another by the fruits we bear.  If that is the case there are many who today are not bearing much if any fruit of God's Spirit within their life.  These people may need to be under a closer examination as time goes on because of their inconsistencies.  The fact is that we all are responsible for holding one another accountable in Christ Jesus.  What that means ,however, is that we hold ourselves and others accountable to Christ and not our own standards because we are always flawed while Christ is perfected.  There are many church members out there who do not have a right relationship with God, and it is due to the choice that they make.

The honest truth is that we have stopped making spiritual discernment a part of our church life, and we need that discernment badly today.  We need to both see and deal with those who are spiritually weak and prone to being fooled by the deceit of this world.  That does not mean we reject them or ever stop loving them...what it does mean is that we dig a little deeper within ourselves to find Godly answers for their lives.  It means that we dare to love them even more than they are capable of receiving at first, and we keep loving them until they learn how to receive and to give that same love to others.  It is our job to reclaim those people who have been written off by so many other churches these people have gone to in the past.  It means that we refine our own ability to love based upon the truth of what God has given us through Jesus.  There should be no reason for fraudulent Christians within the Church if we do our jobs right as lovers of their souls...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
