LIFE THROUGH THE SPIRIT
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I really want to take the time to get back into the scriptural teachings given to us with regard to living in Christ on a daily basis so that we can develop good techniques of growth in our own lives. These kinds of teachings that came down through Paul and the Holy Spirit to the church are things that matter a great deal in our lives today.
In Romans 8:5-8 simply tells us that those among us who allow our minds to be governed by the things of this this world, and what physical demands this flesh dictates in our lives are going to have an impossible job in finding any power in Christ at all. Paul says instead if we want to reach a stable relationship with God we have to go through His Spirit who is in Christ and what Jesus has done for our salvation.
Our natural mind leads us to sin which then leads us to death, but if our mind is centered in the Spirit of God it will lead us to life. This is demonstrated through what that kind of thinking produces within our lives...peace, love and mercy; while the sinful many is governed by hate, and is absolutely hostile to God in every way. Sin does not want to submit to the law of God nor can it submit to God's law because those who live in a submission to sin cannot please God.
This whole thing divides people in general into two categories; those who are controlled by their sin nature and those who are controlled by God's Spirit; but the important thing that we as humans must admit to ourselves is that we are always controlled by one or the other...we are never left under our own control very long. We do not have the ability to control self, and to govern our own affairs because we are created not to control or govern, but to make a choice as to whom we shall serve. The only real way that we will ever find peace and love in the ways we say we want it is to make that choice and allow God the control that is needed to help us grow into the people that He has created us to be. There isn't any kind of deal that we can make with either God or with the enemy that will put us in charge. We just do not understand this sin nature within us is so demanding that is like an addiction in smoking to any other addiction that leads us down a pathway that hurts us. We do have a chance to break free of that addiction and to begin to see the real truth of life as God has created us to live, but it will take some time of real commitment before we can begin to see and feel it in this life. Romans 6:6-8...Ephesians 4:22-24 and Colossians 3:3--15 explain it in better terms than I can, but we need to begin to really get into God's word so that we might find what is that accepteable and perfect will of God within us. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
