WHEN DO WE BECOME STALE?
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ:
Have you ever noticed yourself becoming rather stale in your worship and praise of God...?
Our lives are never the same when we release all of the crud that is inside of us and get rid of the clogs that this world has created in our spirits. Our hearts cannot hold on to the things of this world for very long before we begin to really feel it on the inside, and so it becomes very important that we find special time with the Father in prayer and meditation just as Jesus did while He was in His earthly ministry among us.
I remember reading about all of the times that Jesus withdrew from the crowds around Him...even from His disciples to pray, and to meditate. I believe that we are not praying enough or especially doing enough meditation upon God's word to us. Can I ask you a question? When was the last time you just got away from all that goes on around you in this world just to pray?...You see what I mean?
The real apathy of this world starts to affect how we feel and think if we do not take some time to be with the Father. We may not realize how much that lack of contact with God effects what we do until we start to take that time to be with Him. It does not take long to develop that kind of habit...about two weeks of really working at it, and we will begin to miss doing it when we do miss it. You will probably find many other things changing in your life as well...like the number of attacks made on you by the enemy of God that keeps you constantly missing the elected time of prayer that you may schedule yourself to have. That is simply because the enemy knows how much power for your life there is in prayer, and he knows that when you prayer you will ask for constant forgiveness for sin. That may make you very aware that you are bringing the same sins back to God that He just forgave you of, and which Satan has accused you of now for years...remember what we said about forgiveness just recently?
You will also find it much easier to be one with your church family when you are closer to the Father. We can all begin to be stale in our faith when we allow ourselves to begin to live with the world instead of in Christ. Jesus said that we should be in the world but not of the world which simply means that we live in this flesh until we die from it, but while we are yet living in this place our new birth into Christ gives us the chance to already be a part of the Kingdom of Heaven. we can live as though we were in a foreign land; obeying the laws of the land as long as those laws are not disobedient to the laws of God and our homeland; the Kingdom of Heaven. We huddle close together as though we are immigrant from a foreign land because we really are. Do not conform to the image of this world then but become transformed by the renewing of your mind in Christ. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
