TRUE HUMAN NATURE
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I think that most of the time we are fairly dishonest within ourselves about who we really are deep inside. When I say that I mean the person whom is talked to in the mirror early in the morning as we blankly stare back at self. That person is someone we really do know on the inside, and someone we really cannot be fooled by, and yet it is our nature to try.
It is that human nature that I am speaking to right now that rears up whenever there is any blame to be placed upon a wrong doing, or an excuse needed for something done that may have caused pain to someone else. We have become pretty good at compromising or fault finding in order to deflect blame for our own sinful natures. The question for me is why am I that way naturally instead of being open and honest at least with myself and God?
When I look at myself I can see many parts of my life in play at the same time. I can see the parts of my life that have been given over to the will of God. I can look at that transformed part of me who is ruled by Jesus Christ, and feel pretty good. If I dare to really inspect the inner workings of who I am I see a different picture. If I look at my body more as a city or small kingdom which is now ruled by Jesus Christ it helps me to begin to look deeper within me. I have to take my life apart in many ways to find out who is living within my city that is ruled by God, and see the various persons living there. As in every kingdom there will be those who rule and govern , and others who rebel. Inside of me I find various gifts...I find emotions , and personality traits that all must live together within me. There is always such characters as Pride, Anger, Fear, Love, and Hate who will always rule at times. These can be influenced for either good or bad depending on who we let them live with. There are others who may be newer citizens that have moved in when Christ took control of our lives; like Mercy, Faith, and Hope. These bring various laws with them from the Father like prayer and meditation on the word of God that helps to keep us on track, but there are very old citizens as well who may have inner married with the enemy of God when we were ruled by Satan.
These personalities are hidden deep within us, and do not show up except on occasion of temptation or great stress. We fight our spiritual battles with all of these things standing side by side, and at work together. Sometimes we cannot tell who is an enemy and who is a friend to what we know is right. At a time when we are proclaiming one thing in our lives an occasion may come up when we show just the opposite, and we wonder "where did that come from"? The truth is that there are small things living inside of us that are not loyal to God, but have been there when we were still ruled by God's enemy. They have stayed within us as a kind of underground rebellion force, and have inner mingled or married into various families living within the kingdom of our lives. It is almost impossible to tell where their loyalties lay until certain things come up within our life experiences. When they do it is them that we can openly deal with them by either ignoring them or casting them out through the power of Jesus Christ. These become the true human nature that we work with inside of ourselves each day when it comes to our spiritual lives. It is these area where the temptations and battles are waged within us to do either good or evil, and it is these things which must peice by peice be brought before God and made to declare Jesus as Lord over them. I hope this helps you to understand a little better what many of you are going through, and a little more about who is really in charge in some of your lives. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
