PRODUCING FRUIT
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Each day of my life I pray that what I can offer to others may help them to bear fruit of the Spirit of God in their lives. I see so many people today whose lives are not making any kind of move in life toward growth in Christ. Many have plateaued in some way, and they are lead to believe that they have become mature in Christ therefore they no longer have the need to grow or learn. In a huge way this reminds me of the parable that we just had in a message on Sunday about the Barren Fig tree found in Luke 13:6-9.
The point that relates to us today is that we cannot go forever and not bear fruit; not because we cannot live, but because the Master demands that we bear fruit when He wants to use us. In many ways the only way that we can be of use to God is in bearing fruit which is to be witnessed by the world around us. The reason that I try to help you and to cultivate you and water you is to help you to bear fruit for if you do not and God comes looking for fruit that can be used He may well have you cut down and uprooted so that the soil around you can be put to greater use.
These are hard teachings that are taught by God to us, and from the very Son of God to us, and not by the mere wisdom of men. That is why they become so very important for us to heed. Jesus gave us these parables for a very good reason...they are all geared toward bearing the fruit of the Spirit in our lives through the different circumstances and ways that we come into contact with this world. These warnings were not randomly chosen to be used as interesting stories, but for a purpose. Each one of these leads us to a different way to bear fruit for God right where we are planted. God has seen to it that we want for nothing to be able to do that; yet we do not see it. Whatever the circumstances you are in right now you can still bear fruit for God in some way. It does not take money or power, it is not based upon your knowledge of scripture or anything that you might physically have to offer, but bearing fruit is based upon your heart.
Being the physical creatures we are it is so easy to let that part of us rule everything we do but God looks upon the heart, and even deeper than that the intent of our heart. We cannot hide the true intent of our hearts from God. That is why we are given this life in the first place so that God might be able to find out who we really are as individuals. The concept of bearing fruit for the Kingdom of Heaven; the idea of completely giving this life up for the one that God has promised us, and the whole idea of Spiritual Unity are all based upon the intent of our heart to love God. Unlike the world around us God does not play tricks on us to manipulate us into being forced to do something. He offers us an alternative to the temporary and the mundane this world has by laying out for us all that we need to know to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. If we have the eyes to see that then we will produce fruit. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
