CHURCH PROBLEMS

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I probably got the attention of some of you right away with the title of this, but I want to talk with you for a moment about the tremendous effect that problems we have within the church has on the community around us.

This is mostly in the relationships that we have with one another as we try to deal with life, and the tremendous effect it has on us as Christians in the body and on those who we witness to outside of the body of Christ.  First we need to understand the reasons for the love we share being that we are living for Jesus Christ everyday.  We should be living sacrifices for Christ our Lord on a daily basis simply out of love and gratitude for salvation; but even more for the development  of security and family in our faith for in the times ahead it will no doubt get ruff.

There is also another even more important reason for drawing close and being unified, and that is the representation we make of the Kingdom of Heaven to this world.  We must stop and realize that in the body it is not just a single person that draws people through the power of God's Spirit, but many of us working together.  Those who are drawn by God's Spirit are effected by the relationships they see most often.  People are looking for a truth that cannot be found in the world around them.  Many times they really start looking for that truth when they have an experience that really shakes their belief system.  If we are true to one another it really goes a long way in drawing them to see more what our life is all about.  Now the church does not talk about this much but I want to point out to you that many of those who attend the church you go to on a Sunday morning are not Christians...we often think just the opposite, but that is not true.  There are some who have gone to your church perhaps for many years who have never really made a commitment to Christ in their lives.  Oh we might sit right beside someone  on a Sunday and never know how much they are hurting on the inside, or even why they have come to the church that day...perhaps for encouragement or the love they have missed all week long from the world around them.

My friends there are many very lonely people in this world who need what we have to offer, and it may well start for them as they watch how we love one another.  The Holy Spirit is the one who does the drawing of souls, but it is we who minister through the foolishness of preaching...that preaching is not always in word; but many times it is in the deeds and reactions we have within the body of Christ to one another.  This week as we start out our daily routines it is my prayer that you will take some heed to these words, and the next time you greet a fellow Christian remember that others are probably watching you closely to see that truth.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
