TRULY SEEKING GOD
GREETINGS IN JESUS:
I have found that as I grow closer to God I have had to give more of my own will away to His authority than I ever started out to give when I started the journey. I have found it necessary to continue to go deeper in seeking after God than I ever thought I would, and it is that very thing that has changed my life more than anything else. Along the way, I have lost some of the things that I have thought were the most important to me to find even deeper things that I never thought were there inside of me just waiting for the right time to surface.
The point I am making here is that my change in life has been due not to what I have wanted to happen, but due to the nature of God's Spirit drawing me ever deeper as I allowed God to take control of who I am. As I have grown I have come close to friends, and then at some point been drawn away from those very people that God once put in my life. I have developed thoughts and felt the pull to study to prove or disprove things that have changed my entire philosophy about life because I dared to accept a challenge from God to go still deeper in my walk with Him instead of settling for where I was. In all of my relationships, I have found times when I encountered people who God has put in my path that I have taught and others that I have learned from, but I have always continued to grow. I have learned that as we grow and continue to seek God in our lives we never stop moving forward. There are times when people who are with us must pick up on our movement in Christ and start to grow with us or be left behind, and that can be painful unless we actively bring them with us.
It can be a real challenge sometimes to get another person to seek God enough to grow with you, and yet when you get into that kind of growth in Christ relationships either will grow in Christ with you or they will be left behind.
We are called to love others as God loves them not as we can love them because our love for someone is insufficient and too shallow to help them reach an understanding of the depth of God's love. Instead, we must love everyone around us with God's love flowing from Him through us to them because it is the only way they can feel our growth in Christ. We don't have to have great wisdom or knowledge to do this just the open contact with God's love flowing through us to others. In many ways its simply getting out of the way of God's work within our lives because at some point all of what we do becomes rather automatic. There is a point in our journey that we can no longer help but to seek after a deeper walk with the Lord on a daily basis. The things we begin to share with others is never from us but from Him. There is a point when as we pray God's love will overflow and His power will be what we see at work in our lives. We should never be in control of what God is doing in our lives. As God flows through us and covers us it will also touch all who are around us, and for some, they will also be drawn but for others, it will be uncomfortable for them and they may step away. We do not have control over that and we need to recognize those relationships and allow God to do what He wants with it not necessarily what we want.
Dear ones there is so much we all have to learn about seeking after God. We need to know that the journey of walking deeper every day will never end for us, and the very moment we think we have reached a place where we are comfortable is when God will likely begin to call us deeper than we ever thought possible. We are called to be sons and daughters of God which means that we are created to be so much more than we can see of ourselves or understand in this life. Our goal is to allow God to transform us into new creatures that fit into the Kingdom of Heaven. I don't know about you, but I am seeking that transformation as much as I can now so that I will have the courage understanding and power through Christ to stand in the face of evil in this world and know that I am victorious. Are you allowing that kind of growth in Christ to happen for you right now? If not just ask the Lord to pull you deeper, and for you to recognize the signs, and the doors that you need to walk through for that to happen. You will never be disappointed. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
