ALLOWING GOD TO DO THE WORK IN YOU NOT THROUGH YOU

GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:


    How many times do we get caught up in our work for Christ without realizing that the work we are doing really has nothing to do with our will or our ability to perform a task for Christ and everything to do with His direct work in our lives personally?  I am discovering that we are creatures that are more likely to mess up God's plan than we are to carry out His work to this world.  The more I really look at most Christians today I find we are very much like sheep.

  We are all like sheep that have gone astray with the exception that some of us have gotten dirtier than others we can all be cleaned up and used for God's purposes.  The fact is that we can do very little on our own, and that is just the way we are made.  While we are made in God's image while we are in this life we are more like the sheep of this world than anything else.  We have no real defenses and just as sheep we can easily be fooled because we don't often watch where we are going and we get lost...and dirty.

  It is never that we cannot be used by God if we are dirty at one time in life because most of us get dirty in this life by playing in the mud. The point is that we can never get clean by ourselves, and we can never do anything good on our own. We desperately need a Shepard to help us stay on track and to keep us cleaned up so that we can be used.  Even then we don't understand that we are the product, we don't produce the product or use the product, but we are the product!  Our very best product is in our willingness to be used of God in whatever ways He needs us to be used.  It is God working in us to make us a better product that changes our value and not the work that we try to do for God.  Just by living we all produce things in life in the same way sheep naturally produce wool but have no clue what it can be used for until the Shepard shows us the final product that benefits him.

When we allow God to work in us a whole new kind of product is produced within us that we could never have imagined on our own. While it is hard at times for us to understand this valuable product from the fact that we simply stand still long enough for  God to clean us up and then take the product from us He needs while the rest of this world watches still it is just that simple. It isn't our wool that God seeks from us, but a clean heart that can reflect His love back to those who so desperately need it.  We can be no more than an example to the rest of the world around of how God works and changes our lives once we submit and give Him Lordship over everything we are.

  The question is this: How are you allowing God to use your life without the need to try to control things? It takes a while for God to clean us up because it starts with our being cleaned from the inside out, and that is not something people may see right away. What they will see is the almost immediate changes in our attitude, likes and desires in life with Christ as our Shepard.  What is seen by others is the fruit of God's Spirit that begins to change us almost automatically.  While the others may not see any kind of physical change real quickly there is no doubt about the change that has begun inside of our hearts.  That Spirit that has taken up a home within us will continue to change us if we allow ourselves to be taught and grow in Him. The is a new sensation inside of us that will eventually shine through everything that we do. The fruit of God's Spirit is produced through our relationship with Jesus, and cannot be done in any other way.  Mayou richly bless God through your life in Him.
