WHAT KINDS OF SEEDS ARE WE PLANTING?

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Do you know what you are doing? That was one of the kinds of questions Jesus often had to ask the Scribes and Pharisees as He was teaching the principals of the very law they were supposed to already know. Jesus who already knew the thoughts of these men knew of the error in their heart when it came to what they were teaching in the Synagogues.  They were teaching of a physical kingdom that would set up the rule for the Nation if Isreal and not the rule of God.  This is the first seeds that were attempted to be planted that were filled with weeds that had to be dealt with because it was making it impossible for men to find God.

Today we may teach the truth according to what we know and yet the very seed we may try to plant within a life may not be what God wants for them.  Just like the Leaders of the Synagogues of Jesus time, we think we know all there is to know about the word until we allow that word close enough into our own lives to begin to change us.  It is then many times we begin to grow much more cautious about what we teach for fear of planting the wrong seeds.

You see the teachers were teaching the LAW which meant they were teaching about the conviction of the law toward sin, yet they still did not know about the Good News of Christ that changed everything. It not only gave hope to the hopeless, but it did away with most of the traditions that the Jews had held so tightly to.  We are today planting seeds again along with the good news that directs people to have to follow our own traditions to have fellowship with us in Christ.  The seeds we plant are also filled with preconceived ideas about God that we don't need to have to worship or even fellowship with one another.  We shouldn't have weeds in our seeds because weeds will choke out the good grain from growing.  It will prohibit us from bearing the useful fruit of His Spirit in our lives, and could even be harmful to some people we have been trying to witness to.

God's view of things is completely different from ours.  The Jews found out that the Kingdom was Spiritual and not of this world; not like what they had planned for at all.  We today are still getting it mostly wrong when we try to build the church without the direct influence of God's Holy Spirit on each thing we do.  As we teach the only way we can be sure that we don't get off track is to teach only Christ's personal words, and not the concepts and ideas of other men about the words of Christ.

I pray that you will watch closely what I am saying to you so that you don't get caught up in the web that this world lays for us as a trap that is called tradition.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
