GETTING CHOKED OUT
GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF JESUS:
In some cases, there are new Christians who are being choked out by the kinds of weeds that are growing along the side of them within the Church bodies we attend. Not all of the problems stem from people who are wanting to do harm to the growth of another person, but sometimes it goes to the core of what we are being taught.
I am teaching a course in Romans right now that has Paul trying to explain some of the very things that I am referring to here. There are those in our churches who know only enough to be dangerous to uninformed and new Christians who are searching for answers. for their Christian lives. Truthfully most of these people do not know where or who they can turn to for good stable answers in their faith, and so they simply speak to others who they have seen in church. I would like to think( just as they would) that anyone would be able to answer a simple question, but we are finding that is not always the case, and it is not always the fault of those giving out wrong information. Sometimes its the Churches fault because of the way we go about teaching the word.

The fact is that as hard as we may preach the gospel from the pulpit on a Sunday Morning the only way it will start to get into our lives is by its demonstration and use in our lives during the week. That means that we all need to get involved with small groups within our area to begin to live out the principals we hear about on a Sunday. We desperately need to be able to discuss these things at length and discuss them with others who we trust in Christ.

I believe these foundational teaching should become a priority in the development of new Christians as we are all called on to "TEACH, BAPTIZE, AND TEACH " After that, we can start to deal with the more subtle issues and finer points of the life we have in Christ. Build the right foundation before we start to build up the roof and walls AMEN? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
