LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Let your light so shine that all men might see it!  Although these words have been hidden within our hearts many times they are never shared in a practical way with the rest of the world around us.  What happens when we allow our light to shine strongly enough to be seen all around us?
That is when this world will notice you enough to start to throw stones at you for your beliefs.
In the last part of the Beatitudes
Matthew 5:9-12 Jesus speaks about those who out of the pureness of heart become peacemakers with men. They will all be known as the Sons of God and it will not take long before they are singled out for persecution. We should not be surprised by this kind of action by the world because we are in a very corrupt war against the powers and principalities that now govern this world.  We are burning our light in the darkness just so that others may be able to see the truth that God has given us.  We are told to rejoice when this persecution happens because it is the same thing that has always happened with people of God when they reflect truth to the world around them.  I was told once that persecution can be good because it can do several things for the Christian life: 1. It takes our eyes off of Earthly rewards.  2. It strips away superficial beliefs. 3. It strengthens the faith of those who endure.4. Our attitude through persecutions serves as an example for others giving them more strength.

The light that we shine is not made by us but is the light that God has stored inside of us that we reflect out into the world.  If you have ever been alone in the midst of a dark and unfamiliar pathway you know the feeling of what it is to see the light of a campfire burning.  It is the light that draws us automatically to it, but along with that light is the comforting presence of others who understand your need to be in the warmth of the flame and the conversation of others.  The light will draw people to you and it is your job to share in the warmth and truth that you have.  We don't have to be smart or knowledgeable in scripture to share that light planted within us; we just need to be loving.

I find that there isn't a day goes by that I am not confronted with something of God that I do not yet know.  Usually, the information comes from someone whom I never expected to learn from and that can be a very humbling experience.  Little children, the needy, and people living on the streets are usually people I learn the most from. because they don't have an agenda.  Keep it simple my friends and LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
