WHAT WE LEARN TO LISTEN TO

Greeting in Jesus name:

Just about all of us are guilty of not listening to the wisdom of someone to tries to give us a "Heads up" on something we get involved in, but are dead set on doing the wrong thing.

For some reason we feel that our freedom to chose means that we are the ones  of each aspect of our lives, but that is simply not true because we are never created to be in charge; we are created as men and women to make a choice about life.  It is the world around us which convinces us to try to take charge.  Solomon in all of his wisdom given to Him by God found that most all of the worldly knowledge and so called wisdom of men was nothing more than a cheap kind of vanity compared to the height, depth, and width of God's gift of Spiritual peace.  With all of the money and all of the power of the Jewish Kingdom laid at his feet Solomon tried to find out about life from the perspective of this world.  He went from a place of respect and wisdom in Spirit to a ranting lunatic from his quest to find truth in this world, and everywhere he turned he found a dead end.  Eventually everything he sought after became a different kind of vanity.

This experience came from someone who had limitless riches and freedom to explore this life to its fullest, and yet in the end the only thing left standing that was truthful and priceless was God.  I too have been tempted to try to find out if  God was the only real source of truth, and what I found ( just like Solomon) was that the deeper I went into other things the more confused I was to the point that all that was left was questions without any answers.  This left me more empty than I ever was in seeking answers from God's Spirit.  I began to realize that if Solomon could not find it I certainly was not going to find it.  When I prayed for the wisdom to overcome God granted me the simplicity  of the message that Jesus Christ had been sent to deliver.  As long as I stayed in the framework of Jesus Christ's teachings alone I would be blessed and safe from the confusion of this world.

What I needed to realize is that God had already answered our request for wisdom and understanding, but we are meant to only go so far in understanding things past the point of knowing what we need to do for our salvation.  We do not have the capacity to understand the fine details of God's plan because the more we dig the more confused we will be.  We are put here to chose either God or self; and if we try to save our own lives we will lose them.  Money, power, prestige, charm, or influence cannot save us from that decision.  The question is when will we learn to listen to God's voice instead of the noise made by this world?  It is time to turn down the volume of noise from this world and meditate on the voice of God.  I will be praying for you as we contine to work together to find Him.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
