THE PRINCIPAL OF OBEDIENCE number FIVE

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Most of the principals we have discussed to this point are things shown directly to us from Jesus own life.  Probably the greatest of all of these is in today's discussion THE PRINCIPAL OF OBEDIENCE which is number FIVE.  Romans  6:14-23 speaks to the fact we are no longer our own when we make that contract with God for our salvation.  The whole concept of that agreement is that we are trading the value of this temporary life we now live for the word that God has given us of a life that is beyond our comprehension and eternal ; spent with a God who love us  more than we can imagine.  Obedience to God is the one basic principal of Growth in Christ that cannot be laid aside even for a moment. We have been discussing these principals in our Christian growth to increase our faith in God's ability to keep His word at all times  We cannot desire to obey God without trust and love for what He has already done for us. Matthew 6:24  records  Jesus telling us that we cannot serve two masters because in the end we will hate one and love the other, or cling to one and despise the other.

God has given us all that we need to know to put our trust and love into our relationship with Him. He has not only opened the doors of communication for us  again as He had with Adam and Eve, He has provided  a way for us to have complete forgiveness off our sin through His only begotten Son Jesus.  He has loved us so much as to send Jesus to us as a living sacrifice for that forgiveness of sin.  The death of Jesus on the cross was proof positive that God meant what He had promised us, and the resurrection of Jesus on the third day was proof that He had the power to personally provide the promises that He had made.  Now we need to make that choice as to what is more important to us; is life eternal with Him as our protector, guide and friend, or life eternal with no protection from evil that we know exists today?  Do we go it alone without God's favor or love, or do we make that trade an become obedient to His word and commands?

Since God has proven His love already for us how do we prove our love for Him? John 14:21 tells us that we prove our love for God through our obedience to God, not out of fear but out of gratitude and love for what He has already given us.

It is sometimes hard for us to realize that the main purpose for our creation was so that God could love us as His  children.  That's how much God has cherished us as a creation; the crowning achievement to His glory and loving nature has been placed within mankind, and He will not allow us to be simply stolen from His loving arms  John 15: 10-13 gives us the final promise to those who will trust and love enough to obey God;s word.  We will always remain in God's love just as Jesus and the Father will remain  together in love.  That is God's goal; for all of us to be one as they are one.  As 1 John 2:6 tells us that through our obedience we will abide in Him and He will abide in us.  Even in our greatest desire to obey God we still will fall short without the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Philippians  2:13.  We cannot enter into the Kingdom of Heaven without perfection spiritually, and that cannot take place unless we undergo a transformation of our mind and hearts through the power of God's Holy Spirit according to Luke 6: 46-49.  All of the things that we seek in this life are brought to an understanding and a conclusion  through our obedience.  We need to keep these things in mind as we strive toward faith and obedience to Our Fathers word and desires for us. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
