THE PROTECTION OF GOD'S PROMISES TO US

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Most of us feel that we are under the provisions of God's protection as a country.  I believe that is true only because we  started that way, and because is always faithful to those who show praise and faith in Him.

Having said that I want to point out some of things that have happened over the course of generations of time with even those who have been called God's Chosen people when they  left His promises to pursue the things this world had also promised them but ended up being due to their own greedy hearts.

God allowed His people to be put into slavery so that they would be humbled.  You see God is not so interested in our comfort in this life as much as He is interested in the choice we make about our belief and our love for Him.  I have found that in the pursuit of having a relationship with God we need not be so concerned about the mistakes we have made in life as much as we need to learn the lessons those mistakes have taught us. about our need to always be close to the Father with a repentant heart.  I have found through scripture that most of those who were the closest to God had made mistakes; and some of them were as bad as they get.  I think of King David who was a man said to be after God's own heart, and yet he killed for the lust of a woman.  I think of Paul who was before he came to understand Christ personally was responsible for many who followed Christ to be put to death and was a main contributor of the persecution of the early church.  I also think of myself who ran from the things I knew I was called to do for many years.  I think of all of the lies and the false things I have done in my life before God finally threw me down on the road I was on in a blinded state of self desire and made be begin to see that I could no longer run.  God does protect those who have a purpose that He wants them to fulfill.

I have heard it said that the Christian life is not hard "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE"!  I believe that is true and yet it isn't until we actually give up trying to live perfect lives and become real people that God can actually do things with us.  We have a tendency to perform our duties in Christ rather than to have a real life experience in Christ.  When we do that we tend to minimize our experience as a child of God. We reduce it to a religion or a code, or at best a rule heart for our lives, but we still are far away from really experiencing the true power within God's Spirit at work in us.  There is so much more to the experience that we can have in Christ than we have as yet given ourselves.  There is a new way of looking at the world around us that we need to have as the church.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
