MEET A CHRISTIAN

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Christians come in all shape, sizes, ethnic backgrounds, and genders.  Most of the time we never know who is a believer and who is not, but the day is fast approaching when we will be called on to stand for our faith in Christ, and that time may not be too far away.

If you are a part of the Bride of Christ that He has said He will soon be returning for it is time for us to begin to be able to recognize each other.  The early church had their own ways to do so by the greetings they had when they met, and the different signs they could see in the lifestyles and mannerisms of those who claimed Christ as Savior.
AS CHRISTIANS, WE ARE NOT FINISHED YET1

Unlike the churches we see today who clamor to get the attention of the world around them by making changes to the original message that Jesus gave us the first churches tended to not be so open to accepting anyone who came through their doors unless they had a letter of recommendation from another body of believers that could be verified.  There was a real difference in the attitude between those of Christ and the world around them because they had many enemies.  The problem is that although we have many enemies as well in our various societies we don't recognize them as easily.  Some of these enemies pose as friends to the churches, while there really are many who may well sit right beside us in our services on any given Sunday.

It is very hard to recognize a real Christian on the streets today, and even if we would come up to someone and ask them if they believed and they told us YES! it probably would not mean much.  The reason for that is that a real Christian does not happen instantaneously; at least not in the ways we are told it does, and because of that many who themselves are true believers have a hard time finding people of like precious faith.  We have developed a very obscure view of what a Christian looks like in our world, and the enemy would like very much if we lost all ability to tell who believes and who does not.  We are finding fewer things that set us apart from the world around us and so for our information, we should review some of those things that are so basic that we feel surely everyone in Christ should know what to look for...and yet we get confused about.

There is a new movie coming out now called "TRUTH OR DARE" which literally has young people rather taking on a dare rather than being truthful, and of course, there is a possessing spirit that gets involved making the whole thing a real nightmare.  The point is that we all are faced with a point when we would like to avoid the truth about certain issues in our lives, but one of the basic foundations of Christ is centered in being truthful.  When we meet someone else one of the basic guides that we should use in getting involved with them is their truthfulness to us.  Today truth is on the firing line as far as social behavior is concerned, but if someone professes Christ their lives should be truthful.  This week I want to take a very basic walk through some of what we need to be looking for in a fellow servant of Christ.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
