GOD IS THE FATHER series 2
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
The Church is another gift from God to those who wish to learn and grow from the relationship we have started with Christ, but we need to keep in mind what God has established the church to be modeled after; and that is FAMILY. Over the last century the powers and principalities of evil have tried to destroy that main directive of what we have always considered the Family to be by disassembling the world view of what it means to be a family. Of course they started by trying to take away any simulation of what the roles of family members were starting with what should be the head of the household; the role of the father. It is safe to say that without understanding the role of fatherhood or of being a good husband the principals of following the make-up of a family for the church makes very little sense. I believe that is why many of today's churches have tried to adopt others examples of unity in Christ that have become very cheap imitations of what God had originally intended.
As our concept of family has changed the simple common denominators that God uses to help us see the authority and the leadership of God as a Father to us becomes lost. Evil knows two things: 1st is that if the concept of what family can be destroyed in the mind of men the understanding of a Father child intimate love relationship can be broken, and 2nd if one generation can be separated from the power of God's love for mankind as a father the church which has given the final stronghold for Christians to grow and find strength and safety in can be destroyed. That possibility causes evil to salivate with delight. Over the last century we have seen a great movement taking place to rearrange the world's thoughts about what the family should look like. Using the power of the " Squeaky Wheel" we can see that there has been a lot of attention placed upon the politically correct versions of what family could be instead of what family should be. Attention has therefore been focused upon changing the family dynamic rather than fixing the problem that has caused marriage to fall apart.
Because the family has been changed to represent more of a corporate dynamic the church is quickly falling in line with that as a view of business rather than family. In many cases today's church life has been left open and vulnerable to the attacks by sin filled acts of homosexuality and diverse fetishes from the mind of man. In an effort to make God's message relevant to the world we have begun to be seeker sensitive by trying to accept the world as it is instead of conforming to the will and the mind of Christ. This major point has been leading us toward making a "Good Buddy" out of God instead of a Father. It has bled over into our worship styles and our attitudes in the ways we approach Praise, Worship, and in general treating the message of the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ more as a commodity than as a foundation for our lives. That all having been said what do we do to fix the problem?
I look back to the problems like this one that the Apostles had in developing church life as they spread the Gospel message throughout the world around them. Paul constantly wrote letters powerfully expressing the needs to throw out those things which caused separation between people in fellowship, and then returning to the very basic message that Jesus delivered to mankind. That message states the need for us to believe in God as a Father , creator, owner of life, and that He has sent Jesus as His only begotten Son to bring us a message of Good News and a way to reconnect with God as a Father in the same way He connected with Adam and Eve, God wants so much to build that relationship with us that He sent a part of Himself to be a living sacrifice for our failures to obey. That message is above anything that that we can create as a tool for our own comfort and desire to control, and it will never be changed no matter what we do. We will be getting into the composition of the church through the eyes of God in the next blog. Starting from the foundations and building on the teachings of Christ alone.
