WE HAVE A CHOICE
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
Not many of us can see a great choice in what we do today. Many of us are stuck in jobs that we just fell into from experiences and circumstances we have had in life. We do have a choice even though it may be a limited choice for most of us. That choice is centered around who and what we believe to be the truth. The scriptures tell us that we have a choice to believe the truth or a choice to believe in a lie; which at the time may feel more like something that we want in our lives. The truth is that we are subjected to the lordship of either Satan or to God. Any other choice we may be told we are making will always be to serve Satan even though we may be told we are serving self or family; or what ever else we hold onto in life that becomes the most important to us.
My point is that God continues to show His mercy and love to all of us even though we seem to continue to choose everything else other than God to be our source of truth and belief. Jesus tells us what He expects from us right up front when He makes His statement in Luke 6:27-36 In that scripture He tells us to treat others as we would want to be treated. Even if we are beaten and ridiculed we should not allow someone else's behavior dictate how we will behave or in how we will react to whatever we face.. People don't seem to teach within our churches that the real need is for us to be willing to go into training by the power of God's Holy Spirit so that we can be trained as to how to deal with a hat filled world. We can have knowledge of scripture stuffed into our minds just like cramming for an exam in school and yet never understand the practical application of that information so that it can be of value in our real life.
I believe that the angels who were fooled by Satan's lies were very well aware of God's ability and of their origin, but all it took was a lack of ability to put that information into a useable form that would keep them from falling into Lucifer's trap. I feel we need to have some good basic training for Christians on how to live out the Christian life; almost a list of things to avoid and things to look for in helping others. Oh yes! that's already been done! The fact is that as mankind we have rebelled against any form of trying to teachus how to follow Christ from the beginning. There is something different going on now however, that tells me we are not going to have the choice of who it is we serve much longer...because in the end " Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord of all" The great thing is that we will all be there to see that happen!; then after that is the consequence of our choices.
