IF WE ONLY KNEW THEN

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

Do you ever remember hearing someone say " If I only knew then what I know now"  What a difference our lives would have.  The fact is that no matter how much we think we know today we still simply go on to a different set of mistakes to make.  Hopefully we will not continue to fall back into the same old traps that we have been making in life, and perhaps we have learn ed some very valuable lessons from those we have made, but in truth this life is all about learning to make choices based upon the experiences we have had in this life.  The more experiences the more we have the chance to learn.  There are some of us that walk around in a perpetual fog as far as learning things is concerned, and they are doomed to continue to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.

Scripture tells us much that is helpful in trying to learn from our mistakes and experiences in life by suggesting particular areas to watch out for like the one found in Luke 4:4-8 where Jesus was going through the temptations in the desert by Satan.  " Jesus answered, it is written  " Man does not live on bread alone, then the devil led Him to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the Kingdoms of the world and he said to Him " I will give you all their authority and splendor for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours." Jesus answered. " It is written worship the Lord your God and serve Him only".

These are all temptations that are still offered up today by the enemy of God as a lie to take our attention away from the one main objective we were born in this world to accomplish which is the decision to serve and love God from our own will and heart, to find our created purpose in this life to serve our fellow man.

The truth is that we honestly could have known then what we even think we know now we would believe in God even more deeply than we do.  The older I get the more real God becomes to me because I can see the truth in the words that God has given me all of my life.  The fact remains that we will never stop learning from the experiences that life is giving us, and so we will never be ready to say we know it all.  So what is it that is having you to concentrate on learning right now in your life?  Once we get a handle on where God is leading our lives much of the battle for our faith in Him is won.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
