THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

This week we have taken a series of scriptures from  Proverbs 16: to look more closely at. Now we are taking the last part of that chapter in verses 20-33.

"Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord. The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction.  Understanding is a foundation of life to those who have it, but folly brings punishment to fools."

In all of the years I have spent in teaching spiritual principals I have noticed the truth coming out in these words. The problem is that there not too many people who are willing to listen to instruction at first.  Most people need in some way to see the truth played out in front of them as they try to decide whether or not to heed the instructions they hear.  I know for me it has had to be watching someone live that truth out before me many times before I could adopt it to my own life.  We don't realize how many times our own life is put on the table in front of others to be discerned before what we say can be adopted.  It is so true that we all need to understand something before we can really live according to the teachings it gives us; but so many today are not patient enough to take the time to learn from God's word.  The world around us is telling us to speed up and get to our goals first, but we don't realize that as we fly past things in this life we must pick and choose among the very important things to consider lest we make a huge mistake.  " A wise man's heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instruction, pleasant words are a honeycomb; sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death".

As we get pushed and shoved by this world to hurry up and do this or that; and as we are told to not worry about the small print or details in life's contract, we need to take a moment to pause purposefully so we can think for ourselves.  I have found myself swayed by convincing words and half truth from time to time by asking myself " WHAT IF?" and every time I take the time to stop...take a deep breath and allow myself to think about things; I start to see the flaws in their presentation as I compare it with God's word to me.
" The labourers appetite works for him, his hunger drives him on. The scoundrel plots evil, and his speech is like a scorching fire, a perverse man stir up dissension and his gossip separates close friends. A violent man entices his neighbors, and leads them down a path that is not good."  Almost daily now we can see the disruption of neighborhoods by people coming in from the outside with the intent of starting discontent and arguments among the people who live there.  It is a large majority of this kind of thing that the world will try hard to push at us to either accept it or get out of the way while people bulldoze their way through our lives.

" He who winks with his eye is plotting perversity; he who purses his lips is bent on evil.  Gray hair is a crown of splendor, it iiss attained by a righteous life. Better a patient men than a warrior, a man who controls his temper, than one who takes a city. The lot is cast into the lap, but it every decision is from the Lord".    My dear friends it is time for us to rethink those things that we may have taken for granted in times past in life.  The news from those whom we had trusted to be fair and trustworthy are no longer able to be trusted.  The sources of government that have been all around us we are finding to be more corrupt than we ever thought possible.  We as citizens still hold the key to the power of vote and we have seen what can happen if we hold people accountable.  It is time that we were  putting what God instructs us to do and to be into practice again.  Will see the result of good take the place of the evil we have seen as we give God His rightful place in our lives.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
