LOOKING IN THE EYES OF THE SAINTS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I have spent a lot of time searching n the eyes of people for the hidden truth behind their words they use in life. Jesus describes the eye as the window to the soul and so it is a meeting point many times between what people are saying and what is in their heart.
I wonder what we will find that is different between people who claim Christ today and some of the saints who have died showing that faith in Christ to the very end of their lives? Can we see a difference in the determination within the heart and soul of someone who has given their complete life to Christ to be Lord of their lives and those who are simply pretending to love God? Before Christ's appearance to us in ministry of the Good News from the Father there were also believers in God the Father like the faith of Abraham, Enoch,Noah, and many other who Jesus described to have grown into a great cloud of witnesses who still today testify to the truth and the experience they had personally with God.
In a time in our history where evil is attempting to tear away at the truth of what we have experienced in order to build a new image that is shaped by a New World Order standard we still have a choice to make of taking their word for what truth is or in looking deeply into their eyes and into their very soul the way Christ did for the answer. We too can have that kind of conviction, but we must contend for it by testing God's word against what we see and hear in this life. Paul said it so well to the early church in the concept of not being able to claim that we have great faith when we have not even as yet given our blood for the cause of Christ.
I hear people in this country say " I pray that I will have the faith to stand under that kind of persecution and hate". The truth is that no one knows their strength in Christ until it is put to the test but I fear that most people within the churches we see around us would turn and flee at the prospect of giving their lives for the cause of Christ today. Just like the Corinthian church that Paul dealt with we have grown rich in this world's standards with things yet still very poor in our commitment and faith in the promises and words from Jesus Christ our Lord. There is a look in the eyes of someone who has been in battle that is life or death. Some call it that 1000 mile stare where the body may have made it through a war without outside signs of a fight; but on the inside is a scared soul that is maimed for life. My friends we have not yet contended for our faith unto blood as Paul wrote but we should be strong and clear on what our hearts intent is, and in the light that we testify to and allow to shine through our eyes to be clearly seen by this world. Take a moment and think back to the eyes of those whom you have known in Christ as being a definite child of God...what could you tell about them that was different? It was the light that shown from within them! Now look in the mirror . Do you see that light? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
