COMMON SENSE FROM JESUS
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
I don't ever want to get away from the teachings that Jesus has directly given us because it is His words that matter to our salvation. That is one of the reasons it is so difficult for me to get excited about any of the denominational guided churches. They have become a brand name of Christ and not Christ Himself.
We have long made the statement now that we believe the church is not a building or a location that we must travel to to find God, but rather the church is actually within us as we become a part of the greater church; or the world wide church that Jesus has established. The world has successfully been dividing us into smaller groups who are loyal to a person or a creed or idea of belief. As long as we continue to stay loyal to that set of doctrines before our loyalty to the truth that Christ preached to us we will remain divided and ultimately useless to the cause for which we as a church have been created.
It is for that reason I have chosen to speak only that which Jesus has given me. I understand that within the church there are constant fires being put out within the the scriptures by the Apostles, and yet I believe too that some of these things that we have adopted to be a direct word from God to us is more a word from a very Godly man , and not from Jesus Himself. When I look at the customs of the time that Paul had to deal with I can see the need for dealing with some of those Jewish customs in the ways he did, however they were only a temporary answer to a temporary question about behavior within the church. Paul had a very distinct personality as did John or Peter, and people who were disciples of these men grew learning that particular point of view and reference to Jesus. Each one of these views were somewhat different; which is not bad within itself, but people ; being like sheep will follow the voice of the sheaperd whose voice they recognize. That becomes a problem if anyone except Jesus Christ is recognized as the sheaperd.
The division of the church has been driven by our need to control and develop a faith that fits what we want to abide by, and not the words of Jesus . While we may conceal that secret within the various doctrines of style and worship that we find today it is still a deviation from the original teachings that Christ has given us to become one with Him as He is one with the Father, and to love one another as we would love ourselves. We cannot seemingly accept the fact that just like Lucifer the power of having free will drives us to desire control more than anything else in life, and that more so than anything else drives us to rebel against Gods authority over us. It causes so many to react as though we are sick or drunk with the notion of the idea of being able to choose, but that choice is limited with God being the only King of all things. We must somehow come to a point where we accept only one Gospel ; which the word from Christ alone. I know that today we all are saying that is exactly what we do and yet our actions toward one another in fellowship and worship does not reflect that to be true. I can tell you it will never be completely true until we come back to the teachings from the basic foundations of our faith and quite continuing to build with hay, sticks and stubble that we find laying all around us. We are called by Christ to put God first, others second and to die to self. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
