OUR PLAN OF SALVATION/ Lip Service

Among the most normal of service kinds that we give to God is LIP SERVICE, and yet while what we say is important; the things that we show others in our life is even more important.  Mark 7:6  talks about lip service as well as many other things that are very empty to the world without there being any substance behind them.

One of those kinds of things is to fake miracles like Mark 9:38-41 speaks about.  The world does not need for us to try to generate false gifts of the Spirit in pumping people up to invest money into a false truth.  That again is the ways of this world, and it is no different than  having actors play out examples of what they think it would be like to actually be touched by God Luke 12:56 .  If we say something we must also practice it Luke 3:7-8.

There are all kinds of hypocritical things being done by people who go by the name of Christian, and yet are not living up to that name.  Luke 13:23-27 has a good discription of what to look for in a hypocrite.  I think it is very important that we all check ourselves for things that would seem to be hypocritical in our lives before someone else finds a problem here or there...its kind of like checking yourself for cancer before it spreads too far.  Hypocrisy can be found in so many places that we think might always be safe...like in our honesty to one another, or even in our praise.  We can even show forth hypocrisy in our search for salvation John 10:1.  You see in our desire to gain the approval of men rather than God many times we will make oaths that are supposed to put us in favor with God...really all they do is appease men for a time. Isaiah 48:1-2.

We must begin to realize that our relationship is not with men, but with God.  Our testimony is with men by sharing what God has done and continues to do in our lives...that is through demonstration of what God has done to change who we have always been into new creatures.  These hypocritical things are all over our lives from having a holier than thou attitude to making dishonest statements.  These kinds of things misuse God's blessing on us, and they do not give witness to Christ, but to the real hypocrisy of our lives.  There isn't any wonder why so many of this world will not listen to the truth based upon the hypocrisy they have heard and seen from "Church members".  I like very much what Jesus said about those kinds of people in Matthew 23:25-28 " looking clean on the outside, and yet on the inside being filled with dead and rotting bones"

A lot of what I am trying to accomplish in the Spirit of God is to get us back to a place where we begin to think for ourselves about the truth of Christ within our own lives.  Are we just giving a lip service by saying nice things about God , but living in such a way as to show those around us we are no closer to God in truth than they are?  Why is it that we have lost the inspiration from one another to get closer to the Father?  It might be because we have adopted our own plan of Salvation rather than having followed what God has given us...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
