3rd blog THE CONTINUED MESSAGE FROM GOD'S SPIRIT

Greetings in Jesus:

Jesus told us in Matthew 7:7-12  that if we ask Him for His help giving our testimony to this world we would be granted that help, and yet so many try to make that sound like anything we want we should simply ask for  and receive.  This passage is a part of the "ask, seek, and knock" verse found in Christ's teaching that we so often misinterpret today.

Most Christians ; even though they have been told better, look at scripture as being primarily written for those outside of the Church.  The word of God has actually been written for those are followers of Jesus Christ within the church.  The word has been given to us so that we can bring the Good News to life within our lives.  I am very sure that God has been frustrated by the fact that we have not  understood even that basic fact.  He has in fact waited for us to get this part of our relationship with Him right.

Later within the same section of scripture Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus tells us just how small the gate is concerning our understanding of that message.  We have been so lax in that understanding of what the Good News has been telling us that a very high percentage of people today who say they are Christian don't have a clue as to what God's expectations of them are.  For the greatest part we have worshiped God with in our own understanding of perfection.  We have compared ourselves to one another, and have grown wise within our own minds.  Matthew 15: 3-20 addresses this  in Christ's own words as He calls us to a self examination of our own motives in the traditions we make up to benefit ourselves instead of the commands of God.  Jesus tells us in Matthew 15:8-9 " These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; They worship me in vain, and their teachings are but rules made by men"

If we can understand then that the word of God is written for us...the church then we might understand we have been making many of the same mistakes in interpreting the Good News just like the Scribes and Pharisees did.  Throughout the scriptures we are told to examine our own motives for what we do instead of concentrating on trying to give and love the world around us.  Somehow we still feel like the only way that we can show God's love is through giving that love to the world...but it is not meant to be that way.  God's plan has all along been to show this world how to love through using us to teach what real love is.  It becomes our own untamed bad habits that we should want to change in others anyway so why not start with self first?  I have at least one more blog dedicated to this subject for this week where I want to get right down to the bone with keeping the contexts of the scripture and understanding exactly what Christ was speaking about to the church.  I pray that you will join me and that you will take the time for comments and observations as we move into a scriptural solution for waking up the Bride of Christ in this age. May you richly bless Gof through your life In Him.
