UP UNTIL NOW...
It is a safe bet that most of us have been trying to deal with this world and the events that have been unfolding in it through relying on the things we have been taught to this point in the Church's we have been attending. The problem with that is that we are still getting that basic information about God's love and His salvation through acceptance of Jesus Christ and the Cross sacrifice He has made...while that is all true the time elements have been changing now for a long time. In the last fifty years we have been hearing also about end times prophecy, and the return of our Lord, but it has been falling on some very deaf ears.
If we are a Christian we can vouch for the fact that the Holy Spirit has been very actively showing us the various signs that have been popping up to show us that indeed the end times are truly going to happen. We see things all around us that quite frankly scar us to death about what could happen, and what is happening around this world as the enemy of God continues to gain ground. I believe that the problem for us is not in our belief, but in the perspective we are using to view what is going on.
We tend to look at life through the eyes of men and not through the eyes of God. When we view things through the eyes of men it becomes a quick review of what happens to us right now and right here...not what is God doing and why is He doing it? I am becoming increasingly convinced that we need to put our hope and perspective in the plan that God has already set for this world, and then do all that we can to help God complete that plan. One of the things that we need to do is to let go of our white knuckle grip on this world, and the things of this world, and begin to cling tightly to the promises that God has made to us as His children. This week we will be in the final areas of the development of the church that Jesus established as we get into the development of missions in Acts 12:-15:. This will show us the beginning of how the Apostles had to continuously stamp out the fires that various men would start with doctrines that tended to separate men from one another. Those doctrinal differences have done nothing for unity of the body of Christ over these 2000 years of effort so starting with this week I want desperately to turn our perspective toward the mind of God, and once again start to consider from His view point what is acceptable or not, what is important to Him and what is not; and compare those things with what we have adopted to be the most important to us. We are going to find the reasons behind how the wisdom of men will always lead us to destruction. God's plan is fool proof and cannot be manipulated by us no matter what you may have heard. In the final analysis it will be either God's way or the highway to Hell. It is time for us to get serious brothers and sisters about this time frame we are living in...I hope you will join me this week; it will be important...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
