NEXT WEEK WE START MATTHEW 24:
Greetings in Christ Jesus:
Over the last few months I have been hearing so much speculation about what is going to take place in the future among Christians. It is usually centered around the teachings of those who have been studying the book of Revelations, or who have studied under various ministries who have focused on the prophecy of what is going to happen around the Nation of Israel. Actually according to the Teachings of Christ concerning the age that we live in now the real threat is almost upon us, and we are hardly prepared for it.
The prophecies of Revelation are important...don't get me wrong! The big parts are happening right now all around us and we are not even being warned about them. When I stop to think about the messages of the church in general I hear all the normal rhetoric of love and care for our fellow man, but it all has no real direction or purpose for those who listen to it. The words of Christ alone teach us all we really need to know about this age as He lays out the events that are taking place all around us today. I have truthfully been bothered by a lack of concentration on what is going on around us today. We need not only to know what is taking place but how to react to it in the coming months.
The study that God is leading m into is not pretty or comforting in many ways, but what it does is show us the actual spiritual implications of what we are doing and what will happen in this world. I will need your continued prayers mas I tackle this project. God continues to place on my heart the need for all of us to draw closer together in His Spirit. It does not matter where we are attending services on a Sunday morning, but it does matter if we receive this message from the Holy Spirit...it may be life saving for you and your family.
We need to cut out all of the garbage about education and knowledge before we share God's word...the Apostles were fishermen. What we need to do is get down to the truth about what God is doing and what He wants from us. I just want to use this message as a preliminary to explain to you that we will be taking a verse by verse approach to Jesus own words about what we are experiencing right now. The results really helped me to open my own eyes to what is going on, and why. I pray that you will join me this next week and beyond with this study series....may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
