THIS WORLD IS OUT TO KILL US

I want for you to know that as we get deeper into the study of God's word we will find an even deeper meaning for our need to cling to absolute truth.  This world will try to sway us from Christ, and then if if cannot do that it will try to confuse us about Christ and the simple message of the Good News.  If that does not happen then the world will start a campaign to dissuade us from Christ by putting on a great amount of pressure that makes life in general very hard for us to ignore.

In today's world that usually means financial trouble of sorts...but if that does not work any more then comes the  physical attacks on our health.  Now there are many people today who hold on to the concept of God's physical healing people through prayer and submission to His word and will.  In fact a great sense of power is observed through the idea that there are those whose gift of healing can simple be wheeled at any time or place by men controlling that power given to them from God.  Even though this is a very popular belief today I want to submit to you that God is not and never has concentrated upon your physical body for healing, but rather upon your soul for completeness and healing.  This physical body is a part of this world...like it or not, and it will eventually go the same ways as the rest of this creation...it will return to the dust from which it has been made.

We spend so much time trying to preserve that which is already lost that we get bogged down in the muck of life.  I have many physical issues myself, and if asked " Do you want to be healed?" I say yes, if that is God's will, but we don't have anything to do with it.  I am reminded of the many time that Paul prayed for healing but God did not heal him for some reason...I don't know why.  I too have prayed for healing from God " if it is His will", and the attacks keep coming at me from this world physically.  Could it be that this problem I have with health can also be a testament for Christ?  I don't know, but I do know that all during the time I have suffered physically I am being healed even more spiritually.  I have to ask myself at some point which one of these things is more important to God?  Even in our best health in this life we all are proven to be dying just a little more every day.  That kind of truth leads me to believe that God is not favoring any one's physical body, and that by the greatest measure we can be sure that God will not be concerned about anything physical that we may have or desire to have on the day of reckoning.

I have no doubt in the end result of my personal battle with this life...I will loose the physical battle I am in, but I will remain a victor in that spiritual transformation I have sought all this time. Acts 12:1-25 tells us not to be deceived about this life...there are going to be people...good people who will be killed in this world because of their faith.  This life is made for bodies that come and go, but we should be constantly engaged with the healing of the spirit of man instead of worrying about the body.  I believe that most physical pain and suffering is linked to our being in these bodies in the first place. Where do you hide your heart within all of this? That becomes the real issue...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
