MATTHEW 24:15-25
When we see the Abomination that causes desolation standing in a Holy place then it is time for us all to understand that the time is so near that we should react without any second thought. What exactly is that except someone who would destroy the greatest country on earth being in a position of complete power. The kind of person that we would have never let close to the presidency being our leader.
This is the sign that we should be recognizing and reacting to for it is in those times that the danger is so great that we should not even try to collect our things or make any arrangements to salvage anything because we should simply run for safety. This is how Jesus starts out the lesson for today in Matthew 24:15-18. I believe these are the signs of the great tribulation, and I believe that we may all endure them for at least a time. Jesus describes the distress on young mothers and those whom are nursing young babies with a personal prayer that this time does not happen in the winter or on the Sabbath. Verse 21,22 " For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now...and will never be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened" These are the times I fear we are just starting this year, and these times in God's intent will separate the sheep from the goats...the truthful Christian from those who are only pretending in their heart. Matthew 24:23-25 is where Jesus once more gives warning against those false prophets who will try to sway people away from God by doing great signs and wonders. They will do this in such a way as to deceive even the elect of God. The only way that we will have of telling who they really are is by comparing the fruit of their spirit with God's word. Jesus told us there will be many false prophets in this time coming forth to claim they are of God.
The idea that we have to search the scriptures to find that exact truth or that we need to have a degree in the study of Revelations before we can understand what is going on or what will happen is just not true. Jesus telescoped both near and far future together for them. Many of these persecutions have already occurred and some are just on top of us right now. These are the things that we need to be watchful over and protect one another from. We cannot survive unless we stay in the center of Jesus teachings for us. We cannot survive unless we can create unity within the Holy Spirit toward one another, and stay grounded in the faith that has already been delivered to us. All we really need is Jesus Christ wrapped in the unity of God the Father and our own unity in the power of God's Spirit. If there is any one thing that we desperately need at this time in this world it is that...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
