THE CONCERNS OF THE SPIRIT

In the final analysis I believe that God is not much concerned with the same things that men feel are the most important.  It isn't that God does not care about our concerns, but that there are much more important things that we must some how wake up and deal with.

This physical world has become a great distraction to us as we have bought into the things this world has taught us are important. I dare say that most of the physical world is filled with more want than need, and that is fueled by the greed and desire of men more so than it is the need of the body.  We waste a tremendous amount of time trying to make things important that to God are simply fool hearty.  There are many different indicators of God's lack of interest in much of the physical parts of this life.  The true perfection that God seeks from us has nothing to do with the physical bodies we inhabit; it has to do with the spirit of man...that part of us that to so many has been locked away and caused to sleep like death.

As people we lack any real concern  about the most valuable part of us which has been created to be eternal, and can never die...the spirit, and we claw after the things in this life that are at best temporary in nature, and easily lost or stolen by a corrupt world of thieves.  Jesus has said that He is not returning for the corruptible things, but for the incorruptible which means He intends to complete the Plan of Salvation through the implementation of these last days.  What we need to realize is that the part of us that will continue to live will carry with it the memories and the lessons of this life as well.  If we are in Christ we will no doubt find the peace that passes all understanding. If we remain in this world we will suffer the pain and loss of this world not in a moment of death in the way that we think of a physical death, but in a spiritual existence that will never end of torturous and painful circumstances.   I don't know about you but that kind of existence where we can be in torture and pain without the ability to escape or die for all eternity scares me to death.  One person who was an atheist said : "if you knew that Jesus was real and that Heaven and Hell was real and that someone could be saved from that kind of torture and pain...how much would you have to hate someone to not tell them about it?"

This week we have been looking at some of the hard differences between the mind of God about His plan of salvation and some of the things we have talked ourselves into believing in this world.  The picture that we get is not very pretty, but it is very truthful, and it is very needed today for someone to speak forth.  I ask that test what we have talked about out for yourself to see if it is valid for your life.  I pray that you will allow God's Spirit to operate within you enough to show you the truth of what is being said here.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
