OVERWHELMED

WHO AMONG US HAS NOT BEEN OVERWHELMED?   Just by the experiences we have in life alone we some times can be overwhelmed, and yet the key the this world winning on those terms is that we remain a part of the world.

When God tells us that we are in this world on a physical basis, but we should not be a part of this world in every way those words seem to slip right by our minds.  A part of the transformation process is getting to the point that what ever that happens around us the key influence on our life is no longer circumstance, but Christ living within us.

Among the parts of our change or "Transformation" in Christ is letting go of our citizenship in this world to claim and live under our Lord's rule.  That does mean that we actually have to let go of this world, and all of the stuff that we have in this life and cling to the Kingdom of Heaven. This the part that we fight against so strongly because: 1. We loose all control of our stuff  2. We no longer have a place of our own in this life including any status we may have built among men, and 3. We lose the importance of self around others whom we have always viewed as our piers.   Christ's own message to us is that if we ever want to be kings of any sort we must first learn to become servants of all.  This is not done in a mocking kind of way, but in a true "washing the feet of others" kind of way.  Jesus said over His 3 years of ministry that we must exchange this life for the life we have been offered by God.  That literally means that we have to trade out the life we live here and now for that which God has offered us in the future.

I realize that there are many people who are holding on to things in this life.  We can never take things with us...the only thing we can take with us is that which becomes a part of us.  We can take with us the memories, and the emotions that cause us to attach ourselves to objects, but if you really think about it what part of that causes you to want to hold on in the first place....the emotions we feel when we see or hold something.  Do we need the thing itself to remind us of that special place and time in life?  I don't really think so, and God has promised that we would have more than we could think of or imagine in the life promised to us.  Some of us are overwhelmed by this trade of life for life, but in the midst of all of this we are not alone.  What we give to God is changed through His power to transform it into what can and will forever fit into His Kingdom.  Don't be afraid to ask Him for that transformation.  Let Him do a work in your life today...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
