EXPERIENCING WEAKNESS

There is no set way to share the Gospel of Christ, and that makes individual effort feel weak to us.  We have all been drawn into a battle at times over some kind of weakness or flaw within us that the enemy of God has taken advantage of.  Some times it is the kind of thing that reoccurs because of an unwillingness or an addiction  that has been hindering the progress of our own spiritual growth.

The battle that we face and fight everyday of our live is one which will never go away on it's own.  It is also the kind of thing that we can never win alone, and perhaps never will while we live this life...and I think it is important that we begin to realize that.  It is important as well that we view our weakness in a different way. 1. We have not been created to win spiritual battles on our own because we were created weak for a reason. God has given us a spiritual and a physical body so that we could have a part in both realms.  We are not weaker spiritually than we are physically, but we were not created to be in control either...we were created to be companions to God by walking and talking with Him every day.  I don't believe that God makes us spiritually weak I think we do.  As I look in scripture I can find many different examples of spiritual weakness. Christ Jesus even said Himself that we are" all like sheep who have gone astray". That does not mean we are dumb mentally, but it might mean that until we are awakened spiritually we may be very dumb.  It appears that we don't have a problem in problem solving, but in the gullibility of our nature to trust in something without knowing all of the facts. 2. One of the greatest traumas to the human nature is to change things on us. It has been said that among the greatest traumas psychologically is to move, change jobs, get married, have children, or even make large ticket item purchases.  What sparks this trauma within us is the commitment that we have to make to it.

We are so fearful of the commitment to something that we will do almost anything to play it safe against the odds...and Satan uses that against us all of the time. It is probably safe to say that we have been deceived by the need to be safe more than anything else in this life.  When we hear that God is in control of all things many people gleefully accept  that since they can do nothing past accepting Jesus as their personal savior they can do nothing to grow spiritually as well.  Satan is equally happy to re enforce this idea as much as he can because it simply means we have found an excuse for not making the necessary changes in our lives to completely follow Christ's teachings.  I want to finish out this thought in the next blog, but for now I want for you to think about the end results of you allowing God to do all of the work in your life when you know that in His own words He has told us to" SEEK, ASK, AND KNOCK"...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
