HOW FAR DOES YOUR COMMITMENT RUN?
One of God's favorite things is to find out how deep we are willing to go with Him in transforming the person we are right now into the creature that He has created us to be. This has nothing to do with the preparation that we make on our own to be recognized by this world. It has everything to do with how much time we have spent with Christ.
I am reminded of the change that came over the simple fishermen who spent those three years with Jesus, and then stood before the Sanhedrin who were amazed with their knowledge of the law, and filled with the Spirit of God. The teachers of the law knew absolutely who these men were and where they came from. They knew in the hearts that they were from God, but because their own souls were filled with greed and deceit they chose to continue to try to kill the truth. That is why the truth has long been opposed to religion, and religion to the truth. Religion is a man made decoy that mimics the real truth, but God's truth is through a true relationship with Him. There are not many who are willing to get dirty with someone in order to show them the real truth.
The real truth goes where the people are who are hurting. The real kind of relationship that comes from God is not afraid of how others may see it from a distance for it may look inappropriate to the person who knows only the codes and ethics written down by men to control a brand of Christianity. The real truth holds no creeds in front of it that must be accepted before love can be given or healing administered. The way we are loving in the Churches today have no real conviction from God behind them...they are simply good works used to convince men that some are holier than others. The truth about Holiness is found in the measure of love given without need for the world to see it or appraise it.
The question is how far would we be willing to god with God being in complete charge of our lives? Would we be willing to get up in the midnight hour should someone call out for help? Would we be willing to go to the biggest Hell hole in our city to find a soul that was crying out to be healed? How much then are we willing to give...not in money; but in self to a person not held in great esteem by this world to hear in our hearts intent Heaven cheer for the victory won because we have been faithful to God's purpose within us?
How very deep do your roots go in Christ when it comes to giving it all away just for the promise of salvation and relationship with Him? It is time that we began to ask ourselves these and many more questions concerning how far, and how deep we are willing to go with Christ? May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
