THE ON-GOING DEVELOPMENT OF GOD'S CHURCH

We have been talking about the role that we play in the Church for some time now, and yet the very role that we are intended to play within the Bride of Christ is consistently different than the role we look at as individuals.

One of the reasons we have so much trouble in finding unity within the church has always been the element of self that demands that we stand out in the crowd of people.  For the last year or so I have been working harder on trying to be a part of the people themselves, and taking a back stage role.  While my role as a spiritual teacher within the body means that I need to take a leadership role from time to time as I teach; it also means that I need to live my life in such a way that  demonstrates the various ways I can be a part of the unity that is being built in the midst of the people of God.

The word speaks about the various roles that we play, and the different places that we fill within the body.  As I look at this I see many who are called to develop others who will ultimately become greater than themselves in their walk with God.  It is that theme that I think God is looking for within the body of Christ, and at the Judgment Seat of Christ there will be a judgment of the fruit that we bear in this life and the quality of fruit that we have brought forth from our heart.  It will be linked with the spiritual gifts that we have been given through God's Spirit within us as well, and I find that God's judgment on this is not based upon fairness, but upon His solvent will.

The ideas that we have been continually fed in this world is that some how everything between us and God revolves around us instead of around God, and that is just not the case.  The idea of a unity is in making our lives a collection of souls that live and breath together as one body.  That is one of the basic reasons that God calls on us to love one another in the ways that He has...we need to desire to be one with one another even as Christ Jesus is one with the Father; and in the final analysis we are to become one with God as well as His family.

When I look closely at this process I can't help but to wonder in a time of purging like what we have experienced lately is God just purifying Himself of the cells and particles which could cause the body He is choosing harm down the road?  After all we are to be transformed to fit into the Kingdom...just something to think about.  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
