HOW DEEP ARE WE WILLING TO GO?
How deep are you willing to go to find out what your true nature really is? Most people will only take a journey with God and Spirit through what makes them feel comfortable and secure, and yet how far must we go before we find that part of us that God needs to change?
I have often spoken about the need to give pieces of who we are away to God. He has promised to take any parts of us we truly are willing to give into His care and that He will change them to fit into His Kingdom before putting them back into us. That promise sounds very good to us when we think of God being in control and yet when it come right down to it there is always a point that we start to hold back from giving to God any control. These are always pieces of our lives that we have grown so attached to that we feel we could not take another breath without them. It is these things that we feel we cannot live without, and the amount of trust it takes to give our very life away to God is usually overwhelming to us. It is at this point when we can really begin our transformation from the old man into the new creature that God has intended for us to be.
There is no real connection to this world that we need to drag along behind us as we seek out God...there is nothing of this physical life that means anything in our eternity other than the decision that we make to be with God. Even our loved ones here on earth and those who have been closest to us will no longer be in the same state of relationship with us for the eternal life we live. We will love and laugh and live freely and happily, but our love for God will be first. In my mind I can't help but to think about all of the mistakes I have made as a man in this world with relationships with people. While there has been great pain and difficulty I have have always been made to press forward to a higher calling for my life..not knowing what it was that I should settle on, but always knowing that the purpose for which I have been created was deeper and more than where I was at the time.
Each day of my life now is based upon what God intends to do with me in that day and hour, and I have learned to make no plans other than a schedule that is unavoidable in this life. My day is run through divine appointment now on God's time table and purpose for me in a day. It seems that daily it is easier for me to just sit back and enjoy the ride than to fight for control of what I cannot change. My security now lays in the promises of Christ, and if He is not who He says He is then I am of all men most miserable for I have based my entire existence upon the fact that God is truthful. My purpose was given to me long ago in that I am to work toward the awakening of the Bride of Christ in this age. How deep are you willing to go with God to find out what your real purpose is in this life...you have one in Christ; you simply need to give enough of yourself to God to be able for Him to change the creature you are into the citizen of Heaven your heart longs to be...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
