LETTING GOD DO THE CHOOSING

Sometimes the greatest help we can be to God and to the Kingdom is to  let go of something and allow God to change it within His time frame.  That is true obviously with things when they go wrong in life, but it is sometimes also true with those things that we know are in God's favor for us to do.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to do things that we leave out the possibility of God's power and His Spirit being at work as well.  We get so busy at the work bench that we forget to leave hands off so that God can show us a more perfect plan and way of doing things.  We are privileged as God's children to work right along side of Him in His ministry to this world...but we have to remember that it is His ministry and not ours that we work in.  There was a violin student who was studying with a great master, but during practice the student always wanted to impress the master with his own expertise with the instrument and so he never took the time to observe the master's own techniques in playing that piece of music...therefore never really learned from the master.

There are many today who burn themselves out literally trying to produce the best quality they can from their lives in Christ...these people soon burn out and walk around dazed by the lack of commitment and energy they have for God's work through them.  They need the time to sit at the master's feet for a while and to be taught.  Perhaps it is time for a retreat from everything normal, and instead of being like Martha; we should take the opportunity to be like Mary,  and choose the better things.  For some this may seem to be a very small issue and yet over time we will find it become just another trick of this world to keep you so busy that you run out of your own power to serve God.  We desperately need to be recharged by the power of Christ running through us and inspiring us.  We need to have those Goose bump moments that make our hearts soar.  We need to be inspired by the master of our lives.  This is one of the first areas of Christian life that we need to learn from the First established church.  They waited for and sought after God's involvement in everything they did.  Our lives today are being twisted and turned every direction by the volatile world around us.  We need not only one another, but also to take the time in life to sit at the masters feet and learn.  Today is a great time to begin to form a new covenant with God through His Spirit to find a time and place of retreat so that we can be taught by the master again.  It does not matter if we find this through the time we spend together in Christ or alone in meditation; but we need that recharge and input from our Holy Father.

I pray that you will do this in Jesus Name...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
