HANGING ON
Even though we may hang on to those things that give us comfort or that makes us "feel good" we need to understand that this life is based upon a constant change and movement that we cannot stop.
As much as we may want to say "stop this world...I want to get off for a while"; and I can tell you that many people have tried to do that emotionally, things just keep on rolling. At some point all of our efforts to control the movement of life will lay in rubble all around us.
The natural decay of any physically living thing has it's own season of life and time spent and even that which we tend to cling the tightest to becomes nothing but dust at our feet...even our body; and yet still our soul will remain eternal. It is that thought that I want for us to be able to hold on to. We have spoken about the perspective that we use to see the world around us, and just how important it is to see things through the spirit of God. We have seen how easily it is to be swayed by an emotion or a circumstance that turns our lives upside down, and how that if we are lead for very long by feelings and emotions they can soon turn into attitudes. Quite often the decisions that we makes are governed by these attitudes instead of the truth.
There are many attitudes today that have lead to poor decisions, and it is so true that the enemy of God is big on using emotion to distract us from the truth. If we allow ourselves to sustain an attitude or be lead and governed by emotion we can be easily lead down a pathway that we would not take if we had all of the facts in front of us. This is the most dangerous of all the generations of time in this world because while we have the information age at our fingertips we also find this to be the generation of great deceit. Our emotions can cause us to make snap judgments on things that are presented to us. We may find that something is true, but unless we fully understand it we can be miss lead; or we may have only a half truth that covers a hidden lie. This world has gotten very good at deceit and lie in order to convince us to do different things. At one time we may have been able to trust in leadership because we could trust the principals of Government, but now we find that in each case we must judge the individual act upon it's own merits and the fruit it bears...in fact the day is coming and is already here when even those who come to us speaking of Christ must be looked at through those same lenses as we compare each person to what we know is the truth...that being the word of God and the Spirit that lives within each one of us from God. It is very easy to go with the flow of emotions, and the one way that we can still do that and always be right is if we give those emotions over to God's Spirit within us to rule over; we can drink in the wonderful blessing from God by the simple acceptance and obedience to God's forgiveness. We can use the sorrow we feel from having sinned ourselves to understand and help other find God's richness and love, and that too is all based on emotion...it is called love. Dear ones we are in a constant battle within this world to fight with the powers and principalities that dwell in spiritual places, but we also have the ability to break through those strongholds by the use of those things that God has provided for us through prayer and the power of His love running through our lives. Be of good cheer my friends I have read the whole book and in the end " WE WIN"...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
