GETTING THE BODY OF CHRIST READY
I have no doubt that God is doing exactly what He has planned to do with this world, and the people within it; but I am surprised at the number of people who half heartily believe because they remain a safe distance from allowing God to really change their lives. In Acts 5: 1-11 is the account of a man and wife who decided to not only put self first, but then deceive God and the church by lying about their intent. They paid a dear price for their deception by loosing their life, and it makes me wonder why people think the results of their personal deception will be any different?
It is becoming more standard policy today to lie than it is to tell the truth because of the door that has been thrown wide open by our government officials. There is a huge caution flag that is raised in my heart about trusting people in general these days because of the influence that is brought into play by simply living under the blatant lies that are told today without ever being really challenged. Sooner or later that influence will rear its ugly head within the church as well just as it did in the first church. I cannot help but to feel that the problem already exists, and my fear is that our reaction to it will be the same as the rest of the world around us...who will stand for the truth?
I believe the day has already dawned when we cannot trust in mere words in the ways we once did within the body of Christ, but we must now begin to lean upon our spiritual discernment to find those who are real in Christ among us. This may even be one of the unspoken reasons for the Gathering group in Two Rivers Wisconsin being still so small in number. There isn't any room to hide for very long among the people in demonstrating the true fruit of God's Spirit in their life. I am finding that we do not need great numbers to teach the truth in Christ, and I am finding that for those few who remain there are greater changes within them than they even realize. It seems that God is getting the true believers ready for a pretty great shift to come in the dynamics of this old world. On some fronts it is going to be very scary, and on others very explosive spiritually. The church that we have all grown up under is about to be transformed into what God has established us to be as it is seen in the book of ACTS.
There is no doubt in my heart that this world will continue its downward spin toward the depths of Hell through the lies and deception we now live under, but for those who remain in Christ there will be a much more clearly defined pathway to walk. It is not going to get easier, but the difference will become easier to see, and the persecution will no longer be hidden under the guise of something else. The body of Christ is being readied for something of great importance to our eternity with Christ, and I pray that as you begin to realize that you will draw your life closer to God, and not get caught up in the deception of Acts 5: 1-11. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
