THERE IS NO GREATER SIGN
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
It is a hard thing to watch someone as they struggle with the decision to take a step toward God. Many ask for a sign from Him that what they go through is somehow real...others simply sink farther into their comfort of self and sin refusing to acknowledge God at all.
There is no greater sign than death to a loved one to wake us up to the need to find God, and yet even at that kind of event people will refuse to accept Him. I am reminded of those within the scripture who asked for signs and wonders to be performed before they would believe...they were told NO by God. The reason for that is the need for faith in God's word to us which opens our hearts to trust Him. Jesus even told us there will be no sign given except for the sign of Jonah which meant if God wants us to do something and we refuse He may well hold us captive or destroy us all together in the process. In another example of people pleading for mercy and for God to send someone from the dead to give witness to the lost; God said that even if someone would come back from the dead to testify no one will believe them. God of course is right because there have been many who have had that experience, and yet only a few are touched by those testimonies.
We all live in a very cynical generation where many of the traits that at one time may have been enough to sway a heart can no longer reach that deep. I believe it is because many of those emotions like hope , faith, trust, and genuine concern for others is quickly dying to the society in which we live. It the place of that is a culture of lying and out and out discuss for what has held our way of life together for almost 300 years in America. The enemy is rising from the very pits of hell in this country to rule over a land that at one time held the hope of salvation high through Christ. For many that hope is being crushed as they see the enemy of God seemingly take the power away from Him.
It takes faith the know the difference, and that battle to instill faith in those who have had little or none is all but impossible. I have to realize in my life that our job is not to save others, but to be a witness to them of God's love and favor within my life. The signs that this world looks for of physical miracles of healing or raising people from the dead are not being seen here for a very good reason...they would be wasted upon those as only a form of entertainment, and that is not what God wants from us. In the end we must remember that our greatest gift to the world around us at this point is our own determination to be as close as we can to God through our own prayer life and daily sacrifice to Him. I pray for you daily that you would find a way to continue in Christ with a full measure of faith in your heart...it is getting very hard to help others as this world sinks people deeper and deeper into sin. May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
