THE GIFT
Greetings in the name of Jesus:
there are all kinds of gifts spoken of throughout the scriptures...Wedding gifts, gifts from estranged brothers...we even find a gift of Spring water given in Judges 1:13-15 and a gift of a whole town in 1 Samuel 27:5-6 but we all know that the greatest gift ever given has been Jesus ; God's Son to the world to free us from the sin that has caused us eternal separation from God.
With out the gift from God of His Son Jesus we would never have had the chance to receive the spiritual gifts we have been given through Jesus Christ our Lord. As a child of God we receive the gift of God's Spirit living within us. I don't believe that we fully understand that gift...it is a gift, and can never be purchased Acts 8:20. With this gift there are different set of circumstances under the terms of agreement we make to receive Christ. We receive Christ freely Romans 5:16-18...6:23...and , 12:6-8, but just as in Christ's life it is not free for us to give that love to this world. Upon receiving Salvation and life we are then to begin to given witness to what we have received from God, and it is that witness which become expensive to us to give out. It is that love that will be hated and rejected by the world of men. It is that same Spiritual gift that we have received that will cause this world to hate us in the same way it has hated God's Son.
That separation from this world is natural because we now longer have our hearts and souls living here in this place because we have a secret gift that this world cannot understand
Proverbs 24:14. The old spirit we have lived with has been taken away and now we live with a new Spirit Ezekiel 11:19. That new Spirit now lives with God's Kingdom in Heaven, and there is the same natural separation between us and this world as there is between God and this world. Our job here is to simply share the gift that we have been given with the world around us. We of our selves cannot save the world for our job is to witness to what God has done for us, and then allow God's Spirit to draw us closer as He draws people closer to Him. Our job is then to minister to their needs as they come to see what God is all about. That of itself should be a very light yoke indeed to bare...an easy burden to share among us. I am praying for you during this season that you will open up to God's love and use of your life to those around you...may you richly bless God through your life in Him.
