LIKE MINDED

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I am making a more concentrated effort to bring you better work in Christ than I feel I have been lately.  I want so much for us all to be like minded in our efforts to follow Christ Jesus so in that vein I don't want to throw out things just to fill a day's writing.

We are to be like minded in our efforts to follow Christ, but I also realize that even that thought can be messed up if we are following the wrong things...thinking that we are following Christ.  Let me explain; Psalms 135:15-18 " The  idols of Nations are silver and gold made by the hands of men. They have mouths but they cannot speak, they have ears but they cannot hear; nor is there breath in their mouths.  Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them"  The real part of our unity then comes from a trust that we build up in one another in Christ, and not in something that has been created that may look or sound beautiful to us, but which will only work for a part of our lives; and not for all of our lives.  We need living and breathing teachings and guidelines for building relationships and the unity that the Holy Spirit so desires for us.  Just as this scripture indicates we become like those idols that we build.  Jesus has taught us that we need to be in agreement Amos 3:3 "Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?" He said "where two or more are gathered in my name I will be in their midst".  God wants to be a part of us as a living and breathing Father whom we can trust and relate to each and every day of our lives.  The very things that we are allowing to influence us are starting to put us in a disagreement with that unity.  It is who we start to listen to that we will be like.  Like teacher, like student Luke 6:40 " A student is not above his teacher; but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher".  It is because of that we need to follow and be like Jesus; thinking the same ways that Jesus thought. Philippians 2:5-8 " Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus who being in the very nature of God did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness, and being found in appearance as a man He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death...even death on a cross".  It is ultimately that kind of unity that God looks for in us because then we are one with the Father just as Jesus is one with the Father.  The question is how much will we be willing to love God in return for His love given for us?  May you richly bless God through your life in Him.
